Train wheels can cause cuts very much like that. I'm not an expert or anything, however I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Take a look at a few "train victim" photos on the net, and you will see that the cat in the picture was most likely severed in half by a train.

Agreed,
The cat was probably caught underneath the train when it began to pass over it. The cat sat still until the engine was far enough away and then tried to scamper out and got severed under the next set of passing wheels. I have seen many things cut by rail wheels and the cat looks spot on for a rail cut.

Enjoy.

Nice clean coat all black, not many strays in such good condition. I'm not CSI, but I have trouble building a scenario where a live cat gets surprised by a train and caught underneath it. Though its not hard to see how one might get placed there. I appreciate that off the beaten track there are some unusual finds, but off the beaten path are some unusual folks as well. I refuse to make judgements on a board that I am new too, but I will take this as a UE caution 101 when stepping off the path.
Cheers

I have seen a few "Kitty Cut in Halfs" around the train tracks, I'm a train lover and have spent allot of time wandering the rails.

I believe it happens when the train has stopped, the cat is walking under it and is crossing the rail when the train starts to move, the noise causes the cat to freeze because it is scared. When a train starts to move the cars lurch forward very quickly, and ends up cutting it in half.

I too have seen a sliced kitty on the tracks. It is hard to picture a cat getting caught unawares by a train, but it could always have been hit trying to dash under a moving train with enough clearance.

In any case, poor little kitty.

ummm....i have no idea if anyone called this yet but the cat and the train look a bit photoshopped, there are no shadows where the cats front paws overlap the train tracks and the line where the guts pour out seem a bit too clean, plus the rib cage of the cat doesnt seem right.

and why the hell would a train run o ver a live cat? wouldnt it move out of the way first? and if it was dead and put on the track, wouldnt the body be tossed further away or at least the organs showing wouldnt be as red?

and no theres nothing wrong with questioning the authenticity of this.

Of course not. I'd imagine the picture was taken in a pitch black tunnel with a normal camera flash, which tends to cause sharp shadows, whick explains why the paws look 'shopped.

I've seen other animals on tracks that have been pwned by trains before. Having 60 tonnes of metal pressing down on a wheel with a surface area of only a centimetre or so would certainly cut something cleanly in half. It's not going to flatten it or bounce over it.

At an abandoned pediatrician's office: A HUGE stack of kiddy porn. I didn't dare touch it, but the top pictures have stuck in my mind.... and haunt me to this day. *shudders* I reported it to police by phone and I don't know if they ever tracked the pervo.

By a friend, in his words:

"My ex Wife, a friend and I, went to this old frat house that had burned down months before, because he had told me there used to be a home arcade in the basement. I wanted to see if maybe the fire had missed some of the machines in there, so, late one night, the three of us crawled in and then slipped down through burn holes in the floor, to what was left of the basement. Everything was petty burned up, and we were as black as chimney sweeps. But, while rummaging around, climbing over and under beams and such, I stepped on something, and it sort of "gave way", and a hideous smell filled the room. I pushed aside another board, and in the dark, I could make out what I thought to be a Halloween dummy, a little burned up,....and then it hit me,...foul smell, body shaped, malleable,...Oh SHIT !
So we scrambled out of there, and when we got under a street light, I looked at my boot that had been standing right through the abdomen, and there was black gunk all over it, as well as pieces of corn and shite ! ...and a faint scent of very old, rotten wine.
The next morning, we saw on the news that all our noise of running out of there had made someone call the cops, and they went in and found the body, and were bringing it out. It was so rotted, they couldn't really tell at first whether he was in there when the fire happened, or wound up there later.
Like I said, just had to throw those boots away.
BUT, thats why every time someone starts talking about gross things, I always toss out wino shite right off the bat."

Well, since my last post I found more disgusting things in drains: A large dead cat which STANK!!!!!!! on a hot day, "sanitary" sewage leaking into a drain, mysterious liquid flowing in a creek next to a drain, which after wading in I had diarrhea . . . drains are nasty, but fun fun fun!

We've found desicated cats in our wanderings and even a desicated rat that appeared to have been a bit fed upon. Found a dog's carcass as well as the pelvis of said dog on a return trip. Seems some other animal had either fed upon it or it decomposed and was scattered by water in the tunnel. One of the most interesting finds that I have seen was while we were in a building we came upon a homeless encampment and since no one was at home at the time we decided to look around a bit. (No, we didn't disturb anything, just looked around) We found a small plastic baskett that had what appeared to be a woman's toiletries like toothpaste, toothbrush and things like that but on top of the basket was a pill bottle with a recent date and also labelled Lithium. We decided not to stay around to see if the owner had taken her latest dose.

While exploring on this WWII Fort/Island (Fort Greeble/Dutch Island), while in the tunnels we found a dead dear, we came back a year or so later, the dear was still dead in the tunnel, pretty decayed.
Also, in the underground water holding tanks, we found about five dead dear, just kind of floating. It was the most vile smell ever. Apparently the dear swim from the mainland, only 200 meters or so.

The first time I checked out the Nike Launch site in Topsfield, MA, we were walking down the hall and came upon what looked like a small coyote or a badger perhaps. It must have died recently b/c the flesh was still intact. Might have died of starvation, didn't looked to be mauled or anything. Next time I'm there, I'll see if it's bones are still there. Also once, when walking under those big power lines you always see, we found some sort of animal heart. The rest of the animal wasn't in site, but we didn't want to find it.

I'm suprised not more people have found dead humans.
I stumbled (quite literally) across one while in Indianapolis. I was skipping class that day, so I didn't want to report it to the police. I went home and showered off and threw my skank-ass clothes away (Indy has combo sewers). The next day, I'm called out of class to talk to police officers. My friends ratted us out!! I never found out what came of the body.
I always kinda assumed it was just part of danger of ue. I'm glad more people haven't found dead humans though... It messed my teenage head up pretty hardcore for a few months.
