Posted by bandi Yeah, it's ridiculous. I really wanted a LeCar or a Yugo, and both are a good case of "Rare for a reason".
|
you know something, i've actually drive a Yugo and to be honest, it was what it was; a rugged, simple, tough piece of shit with a survivalist attitude. It broke, all you needed was a flathead screwdriver, vise-grips and maybe some duct tape and you were back in business.

The one I drove around reminded me of a riding lawn mower with a roof. Not really a bad thing but I still don't want to take my Murray to work.

That appeals to me. I know they're supposed to be horrible and all, but the way I look at it, something that primitive and simple can't really be all that unreliable. And I'm sure getting stranded in a Yugo creates great stories for future use.

"East bound and down... loaded up and truckin'... we're gonna do what they say can't be done." The Bandit's car has seen better days. Looks pretty solid actually.

Especially for this area, rust is a major issue on anything over 5 years old, I am sure a lot of people up here would give a lot to get their hands on it...it is just amazing that it is just sitting there forgotten.

I used to have this high school chemistry teacher with that exact car. The thing was rusted to shit, holes in the side, in the hood, roof, trunk, pretty much everywhere. We kept telling him to buy a new car and he'd just say cars are the worst investment. I bought this thing brand new in 1979 and it only has 80k miles I'm driving it until it falls apart.

Local reservoir being drained...currently at 5%...lowest water level in over two decades. I checked under the hood...didn't even have a motor.
