Thats really good advice, tweeek. You can reasonable assure your safety in large drains but there is never 100% assurance. Even the "Hall of Wonders" System has massive SS overflows sometimes, or just plain outflows that drain into the creek. NinjaKlutz's story about his school being smoked out is a perfect example of how ramshackle this town's infrastructure is. Saanich is better though. Since it was sewered in the latter half of the 20th century, not the 19th, there are fewer crossovers to local systems. Douglas Darkie excluded, of course.

Okay, so who the F**K left the painted manhole ajar? I was walking down there this morning and as I stepped on it it gave way slightly. Could this be homeless activity or just some careless UE person? Anyways, I repositioned it. If anyone is down there in the future please let me know if it has been tampered with again.

I'd say, get used to that and expect it... it is crazy how many people shit in their own nest.

We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained we must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be by the better angels of our nature. |

Oh jesus. Not again...... I was having a bad enough day today. (Heater core replacement on car=not fun). Ferrum....about 4 months ago i also found that same manhole left improperly closed, and had to put it back in place. So, yeah, apparently there's still stupid activity going on around there. Sad. And yes, Jester, agreed.

It seems that we need to set up a block watch of sorts for the better known locations in the city.

Like a UE version of the Guardian Angels? And what happens when one of our 'block watchers' encounters a heathen leaving open drain covers?

We feed them to the satanists of course. Come on KK you should have known that.

You may need to use an image resizing program. Pixillion is a decent free choice. Google it. PM me if you still have problems.

so this upcoming monday, i have arranged for ferrum and myself to get a special look at the old hudson's bay warehouse (the one on wharf close to the yellow archway)there is two possibly three different place's inside. one is threw the back of a certin suit, which i believe lead's to an old empty space or tunnel another is directly under wharf which extends to a minimum of 20ft past the building foundation, one of these area's is just a space under the street or atleast is just a space now the other from what ive heard hasnt been entered in a long time, i havent read anything on this area nor do i think anyone had been in there for it's not very well know it's inside a small business and i dont think the owners acknowledge it. hopefully this is a decent little expedition i have been approved to go down there and all i need to do is make a phone call on monday and they will clear the way SD

Looks like y'all have been having fun with drains and sewers. I'm too lazy to look through 2000 posts, so what is the current status with the Janion? Was there ever any progress with cheng/kennedy? I've seen some references in here to the GCG. Who/what are they? I was working in Victoria for a couple of weeks this spring, I should have gotten my feet wet and checked out some of the bigger drains, but...
