hello everyone. Well, talked to some people from work and they sent me to a gentleman in town who uses old archived drawings of buildings to upgrade them for quakes. He showed me some very interesting drawings. He has gone underground himself so he can do the inspections of some of these places. According to him, there are not "tunnels" under the city but "passageways" which were used by the early soldiers here. The pways are 5-6 ft high(which is why he has to inspect them). Most of the entrances have been sealed and cemented over according to him. Since he can not say how to get in to them, he did say that if someone where to 'walk the water front and knew what didn't look right, it wouldn't be hard to see'. I think i'm going to go for a walk this weekend. On friday I'm going back to see if I can get a copy of the drawings. I'll let you know what happens! Later days1

I thought they had some Chinese opium tunnels. Damn that Cities of the Underworld, lying to me!

Lying liars always lie. There are opium tunnels. Trust me.

I have know BByman for a few years. He is a model citizen, and even a roll model for me.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too! | |

Perhaps your research is flawed, or lacks in depth. for I have hidden my identity, and those who know me best, have deciphered my true identity. I am... a drainer, an explorer, a photographer, a historian, a writer of articles, an honorary Concreation.

Now I'm suspicious.

'My research' was intended as an attempt at humor, not a character judgement, certainly not a negative one. I pressed on your name, and got the stats available to all so easily, in less than two seconds. In fact, we should be honored that your only post is to say you are planning a visit. It does (imho) seem amazing that in five years you've only made one post. Maybe we can clear the slate of our posts (with a name change) and start again? Isn't there a bbyferryman? (sp) on here somewhere? Anyway, have a great visit. If you are coming back sometime, and big on drains, I will check with him, and then connect you with a drain 'specialist' in town, and that's an 'under' statement. There may even be time if you are here until Wednesday afternoon or night, which is actually the 24th. Cheers.

Whoa...lets leave the "cult" status to the folks in Victoria!! There should be some caving mid island today, Tuesday. Around Thursday, I'll be heading up the Malahat to a specialty car wrecker for parts for my freak of a car, then to the sailboat moored on Saltspring. I will then be sailing around the gulf islands with a friend for a week or so....Portland Island, Tumbo Island, and of course Rhum island! Then I will be spending a few days on the top of the southern end of Saltspring setting up a small antenna farm for some Ham radio fun (hahaha...i know, mostly High frequency stuff) the following week. Then I plan to be spending a few days in Victoria exploring some stuff as well. Should be good few weeks. Hope to see some of you when I make it to Vic. No - no moonshine this time. It stays on the boat, where it is used as a "marine fuel". YARR!!

Beware of those anti-antenna lunatics on SSI. There are fewer things in life more terrifying than being chased out of town (or off island) by a bunch of disgruntled 60 year old ex-hippies who hate technology, and have nothing to lose.

They know not to mess with us CBer hooligan types, we are after all, the lunatic fringe of the already well off center radio fraternity!

Enjoy your exciting maritime and other adventures SteamPunk. Hang gliders are a good way to get off that mountain if being chased. The name I was thinking of is something like byberryman, not 'ferryman' as in: 'Don't pay the ferryman until he gets you to the other side'

My thoughts exactly. The trippy-hippies will think you turned into a pterodactyl to make your escape. It'll freak them out.
