Hall of wonders is a good starter aswell is douglas darkie, for the hall of wonders tall boots and a good flashlight is is defiantly a smart idea, it hasnt rained much lately so the water shouldn't be to high just make sure you have a bag for your camera and anything you bring down, it would suck to slip and get everything wet. for douglas darkie the water is probably pretty low this time of year high boot's arent a must need (good to wear though), more than one good flashlight should be brought threw this one. as for the fun part no one here will "tell" you where to go, however there are MANY tips and hints threw out this thread, after you explore a little bit take some pictures and get a little more known and im sure someone will help with hints;) Enjoy the hall of wonders and douglas creek darkie neither are hard to find both are pretty cool, PM me if you think you have found douglas darkie im down to go for a little adventure threw there it's been awhile should be even easier for you now ;) SD

Buddy and I took some shots the other night. I will have to get some more risky UEey pictures before this ever comes down.

I used to sleep on a platform under there several years ago. Many empty bottles of booze in the water at that spot.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too! |

Thanks SD. I appreciate the help I probably wont be able to explore one of those until next weekend, as Im a little busy with mothers day this weekend. I was driving down Tattersal today and went by somewhere I used to live. I used to play down in this ravine with some friends and we used to crawl into a storm drain where the bars had been ripped back. I never went too far in when I was little but Im debating going back to have a look and see whats in there. Just a thought, looking back at some of the pictures posted of old Victoria, I saw one with a store or something that was called something along the line of Maude Hunters. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this was in the same location as the current Maude Hunters Pub on Cedar Hill X and Shelbourne?

Do profile pictures have an expiry date?

Posted by Extortion WOOHOO! My first post...3 days wait is CRAZY! Well let me start by saying I found this thread and site by looking for information on caves and secrets in Victoria, BC. I have lived here for 18 years. I had heard many rumors about the underground tunnels and went looking a few times years ago where I was told the entrances were but never found anything. I have read maybe 55-60% of this thread. Its kind of hard to sift through the humor and off topic rants sometimes. The pictures are amazing. I will be reading more and more as the time passes. There is a lot of useful information in here to start my exploring. I know Im new and I saw many posts about how you guys are wary of new people but I would love to meet some of you and possibly go on a few adventures with you. Lately I have been building the courage to crawl into the abandoned mine/cave on Mt Douglas. I have been there a few times and talked to many people who say they have been in and its not dangerous. My problem is I am a little freaked out by spiders and am scared of having a nasty encounter! HAH! Just yesterday I hiked Mt Finlayson for fun, and even ended up scaling the rock face at the top. Just last week I found Langford Lake Cave which has been sealed with cement and metal plates. I was completely disappointed. A few years too late I guess. This coming Monday a man I met by browsing online for information on local caves is going to show me of a cave he knows of in Colwood and give me a heads up on what to expect as I venture inside. Anyways, like I said I would like to meet some of you. I am HIGHLY interested in seeing this film "Under the Garden City". Im not sure how old this thread is exactly now and when the last showing was made but I would love to see it! Well, Its nice to meet you all and I look forward to posting some pictures of my own adventures, and hopefully I can join in on the fun in searching for Victorias rumored secret underground tunnels!

Yeah, the spider thing is whats holding me back from this completely. I saw those pictures. otherwise i would be totally down for meeting you guys and exploring. I know im kinda young and a girl, but i love this stuff, it just sucks about my whole "paralysing fear of arachnids"

Then please forgive me, SteamPunk, for my intrepid question. For if even the devil fears you, you must be either God or some devil more sinister. (Based on the collection of bottles beneath the bridge, I'm guessing the latter...unless God is a heavy drinker...in which case we have bigger things to worry about...)

Hey all, Scud here. I have been reading this thread off and on for the last week or so. I have to say, there is some very interesting stuff in here. I originally come from Nanaimo, where I did a bit of UE in some of the old mines and the like. Nothing super fancy. Me and my other half moved to Langford about 4 months ago and I have however been doing some researching, I asked a few people a few questions and I seem to be getting some good information. My grandfather used to work for BC Tel back in the day and I do seem to remember him telling me some stories about weird openings in Victoria. unfortunately he has passed away but I will be going to ask my grandmother to have a look through some of his old work stuff and see what I can find.as of yet I have no been able to put together anything conclusive. I am thinking I found the entrance to the cave of wonders though and perhaps some time next week I'll go and have an expedition. I would definitely love to become more familiar with this beautiful city, both on what is visible and what is not.

I know this is a typo, but really...'moed?' As in, perhaps, mooed...to Langford. I'm sure you'll agree: it all makes perfect sense.
