You know which room was his personal office? Is it labeled or easy to tell somehow?
It's pretty wild that fucking sterilizations actually occurred here. I guess it's no more shocking than transorbital lobotomies n' other lurvely stuff that was happening all over the place during this era of "modern" medicine

Gotta update my location, I'm staying in Staunton for the summer
And I assume that his office is in the main Blackburn building? Didn't get there yet but I will be looking out for it.

The homeless guy is gone. These pictures are old. Most of what you see here is in much worse shape now. For example, the "Super Heroes" painting is almost gone. Check the LDB for more updated pics.

I should be heading up Monday with three other photographers. This is the biggest Urbex adventure I'll be going on yet. I was wondering if anyone had any tips about getting in and not being seen?
If you don't want it to be public, just PM me. I can show you some of my pictures from Flickr of some urbex I've done if you want a bit of proof I'm not going to go do damage.
I would just rather be armed with knowledge when going in than doing it blind.

DeJarnette was never in charge of this sanatorium. All of his work took place at the older sanatorium that is just down the road.

Did you have a bad experience there recently? Last time I went we walked around pretty freely and no one seemed to mind

| | | | Well, there was some sort of private party/ event going on, so that may have had something to do with it. There was also 5 or so of us, so that didn't help either. We ran into some of the party-go'ers in there, and I guess when security told them they weren't allowed in there they said they saw us. Or we could've been spotted. The bottom line is, they were super nice to us because they thought we were with the party, and we didn't get in trouble.
