| | | When I first heard that news report and that he's been raised in MW, I wondered if he was the one who set the sofa on fire downstairs at the Baker.
I'm a blatant waste of time and resources. |

| | | I'm sorry LiquorHead I just can't stop laughing at your hilarious avatar. I'm still new guy round these parts. Makes my avatar look bland as s#@$ by comparison. One of these days I'm gonna stile it on up and put something funny /different up there on mine. Hell yes, most cool. This is a total "Arts Community" around here and I just can't get enough of it all. Peace. T.D.

| | | You're using Garfield for your avatar. That's like, not even trying. It's almost as bad as stealing a still from a Simpsons episode.

| | | Whoa, it sounds serious. Here's the start of the article:
February 11, 2010 Baker under close guard City providing special police detail to protect property from further vandalism By Christin Coyne Mineral Wells Index MINERAL WELLS — Gone are the days when breaking into Mineral Wells’ famous landmark might earn you a warning or, if unlucky, a citation for a city fire code violation. Now jumping a wall or fence into the Baker Hotel property could lead to time in the Palo Pinto County jail under a recent change in city policy regarding trespassing on the property. Mineral Wells police confirmed Monday several officers have been specially assigned to patrol the area during evening hours for the foreseeable future and arrest trespassers on the property. Seven teens, including two juveniles, were arrested on class B misdemeanor criminal trespassing charges early Saturday morning after two separate groups entered the walled area around the hotel. The arrests came hours after the city’s new enforcement method took effect. |
The article goes on to note that things have gotten a bit crazy, and not in the good "Crazy Water" way. There are signs of organized, room-by-room scrapper activity, breaking apart "historic equipment" and a closet full of Coleman-style propane tanks. Those aren't folks we would have wanted to run into. To make bad things worse, you know the scrappers would have told their stupid friends, who would likely come in and break stuff for the hell of it. You know, I can't help but think there's a connection between the two news stories out of Mineral Wells. Right below the article linked above is one saying that the rogue firebug cop had an ex-cop friend setting fires with him -- and the cop is singing like a bird. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was somehow involved in the scrapper activity, and worse. Which means that the cops in Mineral Wells are even *more* p!ssed off -- I wouldn't even want to look in the Baker's windows at this point (even though they say that's ok, if it's not 1am).

| | | the "scrappers" are horrible. I've seen what they do to these places. If anything I hope they stop them before it gets any worse. Otherwise there might not be much to save. p.s. I dont care what that cop says, some of the best sightseeing I've done is after 1 a.m..

My apologies for the delayed reply, but thank you! Just my humble opinion, but your avatar needs to be Brad Pitt from Fight Club holding a bar of soap whilst wearing a gas mask... just sayin'.
