Posted by anatonic Absolutely nothing wrong with buying used, just make sure you inspect it carefully. Check for scratches on the sensor, check the dials for play, check the actuation count, ensure you're buying a usa model and not greymarket, also ask for the manufacture date because you still may be within the 2yr window. Have you looked into it's successor the D3200 though? Similar price (of a new 3100) |

Posted by LyndsayExploration Hey anyone have an opinion on which is better the Canon 60D or the 7D? I'm looking into cameras and those are recommended for my college course next year! |

Posted by Theresbeautyindecay Good idea. Hmm.. http://snapsort.co...200-vs-Nikon_D3100 Is it worth the extra 200 dollars tho? Do you think those specs would be worth the price gap? Or I've narrowed down both used and new cameras in both series. New: Nikon D3100 18-55mm Lens $446.95 http://www.amazon....-5-6/dp/B003ZYF3LO Used: Nikon D3100 18-55mm Lens $332.00 http://www.amazon....TF8&condition=used New: Nikon D3200 18-55mm Lens $596.95 http://www.amazon....420&seller=&sr=8-1 Used: Nikon D3200 18-55mm Lens $495.00 http://www.amazon....420&seller=&sr=8-1 So I could buy the new D3100 without breaking the bank, or the used 3200 and take a gamble. Interesting.. |

Posted by awingthing I was in a similar situation, only I had a 7D. I hear you on the sf-s lenses and hesitating about upgrading to FF and having to almost start all over. Once Canon announced the 6D I was sold. So I bought the 6D and sold my 7D, 10-22, and Sigma 30mm 1.4. I'm in a unique position as a professional photographer to have a awesome business partner that has all L Series Lenses we would ever need that I can use any time. So even though my personal glass is down to just my 50 1.4 (gold anyway) I'm not left in the dark. But I will say I'm glad I decided to finally go FF, because now there's no going back. It's a tough commitment but worth it in the long run. In regards to the 6D specifically, it's pretty bad ass. I bougght 4 32gb cards right away too. The Wireless feature is awesome and works great. The GPS thing, is just eh to me. I have it shut off. But the best part of having those amazing FF images. And for $2099 that's a pretty affordable price point to be able to get into a FF body. I'm currently waiting for the grip to come off back order so the camera has a little more heft. Size wise it is almost IDENTICAL to the 7D when I compared them side by side but since the top is plastic (which by the way you can NOT tell. It feels like metal) it's a little lighter in weight then the 7D. I know that was kind of the point (FF in a more compact body) of the camera as well. Anyway, good luck. I say FF. |
Posted by crazy-with-a-camera I have what may seem like a stupid question, if you use manual focus in a dslr do you also have to set the ISO and apeture or not? Right now I am using a Fuji s1800 super zoom and for the most part it is ok for me but I want to do more dark shots and the lack of manual focus pisses me off to no end. This has me looking at upgrading. Thanks. |
Posted by budda There is no slower autofocus system in the world than Nikon AF-S, at least with any of the lenses I've come in contact with. |
