Like a hunting permit? Is there a limit on how many Kubla's once can hunt per day or is it just open season?

I can just picture it...
<cue dream sequence music>

Jester: "Kubla season."

KK: "Wabbit season."

Jester: "Kubla season!"

KK: "Wabbit season!"

Jester: "Kubla season!!"

KK: "Wabbit season!!"

Jester: "Rabbit season."

KK: "Kubla season!!! Fire!!!"

Ah, gotta love that Christmas music. Anyways, just throwing an idea out there for everyone to consider. How about starting up a Nanaimo thread? I mean, that part of the island is just saturated with old mine shafts, railroads, stuff in the forest(a.ka. places such as Extension). According to a post earlier on in this thread posted by Kowalski, Nanaimo lies on top of very good karstic rock that is good for digging tunnels in (not that I understand what the word karstic means). Plus, despite all the development, I feel Nanaimo is still kind of in a different universe, it just has a slightly more rough and tumble ballsy feel to it. Whenever I go there, it always seems to have plenty of abandoned houses beckoning to be explored.
I dunno. Would you folks be cozy to the idea of starting up a Nanaimo thread?

There's definitely cool stuff up island. Some easy access like the Morden Colliery, (Old mine thing, "safely inside a fenced area") also with great stuff hidden in the woods not behind a fence.

http://www.nanaimo...-colliery-park.php

Cumberland has some secrets, and the population is known and celebrated as the highest consumers in all of Canada of Lucky Lager beer. (True fact)

Another thing near Nanaimo is the hidden underground bunker. Surekill, (where did he go?) and I checked it out a coupla years ago. Supposedly filled in? I don't believe they would go to the trouble, just seal the entrance, then it
can be reopened when things go nuts in 2011 or whenevs.

Jeff; great to meet you and explore today, thanks for your enthusiastic and knowledgable tour of the school. I enjoyed the roof, the Mission Impossible thing through the vent and down into the Waiting Room, and going in the other 11 inch square vent. Haven't tasted the asbestos dust for a while, so am grinning (post shower) tonight. Cheers fellow explorers, lets' meetup over the holidaze.

Great Nanaimo tips, Lien!
By the way, just so you folks know, I shall be soon changing my screen name to 'NinjaKlutz'.
Found something ridiculously cool. Type in 'Nanaimo' on Wikipedia. In the above the history section of the town's description is a link saying something like 'list of mines in Nanaimo. I'll say no more, don't want to spill the beans, even if the beans are public on Wikipedia.............

I'm personally a fan of them. Except for the fact I'm a bit of a perfectionist and it bothers me that they all have red noses.... *sigh*

The insane amount of snow = adventures for me. Be prepared for stories and pictures. =)

Good point. I like the reindeer. Looking forward to hearing your snow stories!
Isn't it like, kinda supposed to snow like another 10 inches tonight or something?

oh dear. you're right. however, sleigh ride doesn't mesh well with gogol bordello. thankfully i JUST noticed the stop-the-music button.

the snow isn't doing me any favors. I can't get around the lower mainland properly, i can't run outside like i usually do, and this -10 bullshit is starting to annoy me.

Hello again all. Anyone gone underground in the snow recently? Did the Hall of Wonders for the first time today-it was the first time I've ever been underground. I was impressed. I thought it was very cool indeed. I didn't think about it before, but, you know, it's really nice UEing when there's snow. There was practically no water in the tunnel- 6inches at most.
By the way, I noticed that no one had drawn a pentagram down there. Not one. So, please forgive me, I just couldn't resist. I brought down my Satanic Bible and drew a proper Pentagram with the goat and the Hebrew letters and all on the right axis that Peterman was talking about earlier on in this thread.
Anyone interested in checking out Ross sometime, maybe right after Xmas? It sounds like you gotta be careful in that one.
Merry Xmas

Good Job NK. A fun space, and great way to 'break the ice' on draining, seasonal pun intended! Cheers

And Lien, just today I UE'd a little downtown.........found two cool storm drain manholes(already mentioned on thread), one near market square, one johnsonish;peered into unlocked room/basement in part of market square but got chickened by patrolling security so didn't get to see how big the space was....
realized just how much underground sidewalk passage on fort, broad, broughton, and douglas there is, with all the purpple glass....i'm intrigued....finally figured out (i think) how to get into the very locked and burned wharf st. passage.... got a nice peep inside of it through a thoroughly locked door. I'll go in. I need to spend more time downtown.
Boxing day I'll take a very quick peep at tunnel where donahue vanished.....I don't intend to go in unless someone says it's really neat/moderately safe......depends if it rains, too. Lien's description has me intrigued.
I wouldn't mind doing the Hall of Wonders again........it was nice.
By the way, just wanted to give credit to my friend Willy Wonka. Can't remember his UE name, but he hardly has opportunity to post, as he has limited access to computer. He's been everywhere I've been, (except wharf st). We did Hall of Wonders together, and he has done WAY WAY more UEing of Vic High than me. He's been in the tunnel, boiler rooms, courtyards, another bigger room in ceilling than what Lien and I went in, seen up a different shaft, been under crazy place under stairs, and discovered (well, maybe peterman or kk did first) the what sounds very cool, 'the disco room' in ceiling, and in the 8th floor secret passage in the Empress. We've also been to Peterman's short train tunnel near bay st. bridge. So, some recognition for 'Willy Wonka', folks. He hopes to eventually become a full member. Whenever I post to say I've been somewhere, just remember that Willy was probably there with me. We should introduce ourselves at the next UE General meet if there is one.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, FOLKS!!!!
Sincerely, NinjaKlutz

Just a new (NEW? yeah right)topic: let's start having a discussion on the satanism in Victoria! Fun, fun, fun! Victoria's the fucking Satanist capital of the world! Hooray!Fuck yeah!
No, seriously, I've been doing some 'primary' reseaerch on satanism(well, talking to other people who have been risking THEIR lives and limbs, rather, not mine) and, when I put all the reliable (omitting the stories told by unreliable people)personal stories from people, and check out stories and official public domain authoritative info on the internet, cross checking sources, some pretty strange stuff appears to be going on. Dunahee case: found a reliable guy (with an address!!!) who has a creepy but not far-fetched personal story involving the case. Ditto with Richard from Dark Horse Books, who had a bizarre encounter with the Temple of Set.
I'll write a very long post either tomorrow or the day after about these people's stories, and more.
Anyone got a story to tell????
