Uh oh. Pray for a miracle. eg: I win the lottery and buy it and live on the top floor and have cool shops on the main level and art studios on the second floor.

Oh, Railguy, no way this CPR of a thread would split, it's long and shiny just like our national rail line. We like em both the way they is

GREAT SCOTT NO!

*sigh* I'm truly considering looking into buying it and turning it into condos. That'd be awesome.

Shame, it'll be knocked down by this time next year.
Watch it turn into a parking lot or needle exchange...

KK I get the sense you know some dark secret about the Janion...Am I right?.

It's been awhile since I've visited this forum, looks like it's stronger than ever...it's nice to see noprint has left the building, but wtf is with the person saying this forum is *locked* this is just beginning shut the fuck up buddy...Also my 2 cents is Le Fevre and Company will buy the Janion and turn the Building into trendy mixed use lofts...Unless the city is bent on preserving or hiding something...

Also, KK do you have your documentary online yet? I hate to say it, but maybe it you should post it on youtube...or make it public some other way, it seems like there are a lot of people who visit this forum but don't live in Vic or were not able to see it at the film fest...I for one, would love to see it....Also just for fun I've attached a pic I took of an old community hall (not in vic) I found the other day...

In a round-about general sort of way, yes. Few have seen what I have seen re: the Janion Hotel. This isn't idle boasting.

No. I'm considering it. I just got around to burning it onto DVD this week, and I owe a few people a copy. There are other festivals I'm submitting it to, but as for an online presence, I'll need to think about that a bit more.

KK and I have already put in a shared offer for the Janion. It will be Victoria's Urban Exploration Headquarters.

I'm thinking...something to the effect of the house headquarters in Fight Club

Yellow Wallpaper, you'll be in charge of hazings.

I keep meaning to come back here and post this, but I am sure most, if not all of you guys know this by now. Where they are doing the construction beside the Telus building downtown, right along the Johnson street side, there are 2 caves. They are both filled in, one is bigger than the other. They are both side by side. They both also have the typical arch shape with the bricks around it. I was wondering of anyone would know why there would be 2 side by side, one being bigger than the other? It is pretty cool...

Peterman and I discussed this at some length recently. We're waiting for the road to collapse and reveal what has been noted previously in this thread.

Those bricks look pretty new don't they? Maybe it's a utility corridor of some sort.

Indeed. It is likely a utility tunnel. That said, take note of the red brick-work just the left of the main corridor.

I guess the question is where did (does) it go?

My information suggests that it crossed the street, but was intersected in the middle of the road by a longer corridor that ran up Johnson St., thereby connecting it to a larger system.

Gas works, waterworks? Was there a steam system like our Central Heat dist? Wow...so much to learn about the capital city, i think i have missed a lot of it though, I fear i wasted a lot of my time there looking for the wrong things. Nice work KK! (pft, my library card doesn't even work there anymore).

No idea...but there was the Johnson Creek Ravine, now filled in, that would have provided an open area into which a tunnel might have been installed. It's really a matter of dropping a long box into the ravine, and then covering it. No blasting required.

So...Toad. When are you coming back?

Sounds good. Remember the 1st, 2nd, and 6th rules of Fight Club.

I'm hoping to get some fun in before the end of the summer holidays. Anyone interested should message me...
