| | | Wow! I have been reading this threat on an off for about a week, and finally finished it. I just wanted to introduce myself and say that I'm new to UE, but very interested in exploring tunnels/drains, as well as researching interstitial spaces. I'd also like to invite any Victoria local residents to come to a bi-weekly (sort of) event that I host (along with several others) known as "Guerilla Drive-In". here's the concept: Victoria GUERILLA DRIVE-IN: The Victoria Guerilla Drive-in appears in the dead of night, projecting films in the middle of the most barren parts of the urban landscape. Under the stars and streetlamps, in an alley somewhere near you, we play our movies without an audible sound. Bring: An AM/FM radio to hear the audio, chairs to sit on, blankets to stay warm, and food to share with your friends and neighbours. At the end of the night, we disappear like Kaiser Soze: "...and just like that (puff) ...he was gone." Guerilla Drive-in will always be free, but donations will be accepted to help support consumable costs. IMPORTANT: Due to weather concerns, this and future Guerrilla Drive-IN events will be actual DRIVE-IN events until the weather warms up in the summer. This is Victoria's THIRD Guerilla Drive-in! Here's looking forward to many more, and special thanks to our friends from the Santa Cruz Guerilla Drive-in who inspired this event! We are also looking for further participation from our GDI attendees. We would love it if you brought some food to share, helped us with location ideas, or gave us a copy of a short film you have made to play before the main movie! This is FREE, obviously, and I thought given the nature of this event, local UE types might be interested. We are still very new, but we have had a lot of fun with the few events we have thrown so far. This saturday (tomorrow) we will be showing "Dark City". If anyone is interested, please PM me. Or do I not have that ability as a new user? If not, post here and I will get back to ya! I'm also very interested if anyone is looking for an adventure partner to go and check some of these spaces out!

| Er...okay. This sounds a bit like one of those News Items, where hoods and crooks are invited to a banquet thing with faboo prizes and so forth, only to discover that the whole thing is a massive sting operation. KIDDING...it sounds nothing like that.

| | | Guerilla Drive-In (GDI) is not a sting operation . In fact, you may have noticed that I didn't tell anyone how to find it? That's cos... itsa secret! But seriously, the reason I made the offer is that we want cool people involved who don't have a problem with doing things that you technically aren't "supposed" to do, but which do not actually harm anyone. We also spend a lot of time finding locations that meet the following criteria: 1) Hidden 2) No security patrols 3) Dark (or can be made dark without breaking anything) 4) room for cars during the winter, people during the summer 5) Close to downtown 6) Have power outlets So UE people are also good fits as audience/participants for GDI because of thier knowledge of the urban landscape! (and I started reading this whole thread out of interest of finding locations where GDI could be held underground) The whole GDI concept is the brain child of a friend of mine in Santa Cruz, who is a trainhopper and UE afficanado. He is my inspiration both for GDI and my interest in UE. I will now move on to other subjects, but if you are interested, let me know and I will tell you how to find us. PM me, e-mail me, or post here.

| | | Post by J Petermanwww.churchofsatan.com o.0 o We're looking for a few outstanding individuals... Is this site for real? | Absolutely real. I was interested in the occult and alternative religion when I was younger and read the Satanic Bible and Satan Speaks. I considered myself a Satanist for a while, but did not really do anything except read the books and scare my family I think everyone who is into metal/industrial music has had at least some exposure to Anton LeVay's writings. I had further introduction because I am also a golden-age science fiction fan, and through that interest learned a bit about the connections between Anton Ley (Satanism) and Ron L. Hubbard (Scientology). So my interest went from there. As has been previously mentioned in this thread, there is "real" and "fake" satanism, but you have to take your pick about which is which! The Satanism of that website, which was created by Anton LeVey (carnival worker, amateur magician, and probably con man) is what I prefer to think of as "LeVey-ian" Satanism. (which is clearer than the real/fake dichotomoy) Then there is the Satanism (which I think is mostly mythical) of blood sacrifice and demons. In my readings in historical fiction, I have read a bit about some "real" satanic cults in france around the enlightenment that celebrated an inverted form of Christianity and may be the basis for the modern, tabloid-news version of blood-sacrificing, demon raising satanism. But I am sure there are a few crazies out there that actually believe in/practice the "real" Satanism. Also, I know people think Victoria is the Satanism capital of the world (or at least Canada), but how much of that is actually people confusing Satanism with Wicca?? I bet you a lot, since many people are unfamiliar with Wicca. Anyway, my 2 cents, hopefully it is of interest.

| | | Last night, A team including me and Tanuki ventured into Tunnel that goes underneath a local cemetery... A security guard patrols the premises while while Tanuki removes the heavy manhole without a crowbar, and we all slip in to the narrow vertical shaft that connects to the main tunnel. Although it may be considered a backbreaker, it is fairly easy to traverse....at the expense of a good all round workout. This tunnel has the most amazing stalagtites in any tunnel I have ever ventured into. It also is the first tunnel I have been in which actually has stalagmites as well. After a bit of thigh burning crouch-crawling we could hear rushing water...We then approached a waterfall, approximately 1 meter high. Tanuki went down first and served as a sort of temporary-monkey-bars, as we, one by one climbed down to the second level. After a brief leg rest we continued. (I had previously heard about a lead where someone had come into this tunnel to explore it....seen a pentegram on the wall and some candles/flickering light and high-tailed it out of there.) We then reached an exit point but decided to go on a little further, the tunnel eventually got so small that you would have to be crawling in water to continue....We turned back and climbed back up the couple waterfalls to the middle exit. No flashlights were used while exiting due to the fact that they may alert the security guard to our presence. I was the last one out because I needed room....room to take pictures of this:
| Thats right, I'm looking at a brick wall with KublaKhan's AVATAR ON IT! So there it is....the supposed pento-gram tunnels...take it or leave it?

| Good post, but I would describe it a little differently. Real satanism is a non spiritual 'unreligion', whereas fake satanism (Christian devil worship) exists only in Hollywood movies. Real satanists don't believe in the existence of god. They hold up the mythical satan (Hebrew word meaning adversary or opposer) as an archetype. It's all about living for yourself in a material world and not being subjected to the oppression of an out of control, anachronistic church. Satanists see organized religion as being 'bad', although they don't believe in good and evil per se. True satanists are good tax paying citizens with a slightly different world view. They don't believe in the Christian devil. They don't really believe in anything. The word 'satan' predates Christianity. It is a Hebrew word, but the etymology can be traced back farther to ancient egypt and Persia. People have a really distorted view of satanism because of the media and movies. Don't believe everything you hear!
