I'm sorry it turned out that way. I thought that stuff looked awesome from the pictures. $130 is a lot of bread if you're not happy with it though. I was going to buy a U.S. tactical vest from the local surplus store but it was $100 and I thought that was kind of pricy.

No but really... What i would love to have is something like a snowboard/skateboarding backpack. It's pretty large, but not too large. It also have some straps on it that are ment to strap a skateboard to, but you could easly strap a tripod and a camera bag or something like that to it.

This is the bag I use. It costs a little money. (Around 85$) But it`s worth it. It holds 11.5L of equipment. Has metal back bars for stiff control of the bag and Even when it`s full it doesn`t get all bulky it stays slim. Lots of side straps for pry-bars and back straps to hold anything from blankets to another bag if needed. Really worth it for anyone with expensive equipment

So I take it then you wouldn't recommend them at all? what about when using them dropleg, are they too bulky to really work in the other positions?

I hate dropleg anything. I dont know how half the grunts in the military deal with drop leg. It's like haveing a little primate humping your leg as you run.

depends on the dropleg.. the shitty cheap ones flop all over hell just walking and they also like to wander to the back of you leg.. the nicer made ones stay where they should pretty nicely.. also some of the nicer ones Y at the top to help keep them in place a little better (also lets you use that pocket, which is nice) don't get me wrong, theres ALOT of shitty dropleg rigs that are worthless..

I got a parcellate and have tried others from just about everyone from tactical tailor on down the list. You have two options, have a chimp humping you or cut circulation off. Drop leg holsters are the same with me as well. When you absolutely have to move fast your going to get one of the two.

I've heard many complaints from marines and some complaints from other navy branches about the system being too hot or inconvenient. These complaints are often issued by people who were not trained in setting up the system correctly. The molle II is good enough for the Army's 6th, and it's good enough for any explorer. If you need a waterproof bag for your camera get a molle gas mask bag outfitted with an interior rubberized pocket and zipper/button seal. Simply put, and ending my rant, if you want a system that will last you 10+ years and will change with your needs go with the molle.
Also as a side note, I have never seen a mil. dropleg used as anything other than a holster. The simple reasoning behind this, at least with pre-campat and marpat bdus, is that there are large pockets exactly where a dropleg would be attached to your leg. I can't imagine why somebody would cover up a pocket with another pocket.
Mark: You are absolutely correct about the dropleg. It's like having a small mammal violating your leg with every step you take. The only effective dropleg I have every felt was a mil spec holster, and you won't be carrying a gun while exploring.

Molle is great stuff but most explorers don't want to put down the cash, or effort in the gear.
Which always made me laugh most explorers wear military style clothing but are scared to wear military style gear. I like malice clips the variations of molle gear but most explorers wouldnt know how to set the gear up in the first place.
