Really, the only reason for either of those movies. Those shirty, shitty, shitty movies.
The close ups of her with the freaky eyes was worth the experience of seeing the rest of the garbage.

I guess it's kind of obvious, but abandoned buildings have one major advantage: They're ready-made sets and need little dressing to get that creepy atmosphere.
Even non-UEers glance at abandoned buildings and think "scary/haunted". And the idea of the abandoned asylum who's last remaining inmate never left is compelling.
Just my .02 rubles.
And my contribution to the UE filmography theme: that one film shot on a caribbean island in which a bunch of shipwrecked tourists tumble upon the
buildings used by the Nazis for creating a super-race of evil soldiers who come back to life while they're there. If anyone has any idea of the title, let me know.

Despite the tunnels large bore and location in a densely populated area it is very hard to find, most nationhood kids don’t even know about it. I’ve been in that tunnel a few times and at the center point seems to be a platform like structure, like the kind you would mount a camera on, still in place seeming to confirm the Ghost Busters location story.
The personal responsibility train left the station years ago, and you gave it the finger as you watched it leave. |

Still a good shot though. I rented Silent Hill yesterday, first time I have seen it since it left the theaters. It's an ok film but didn't do much for me, I was hoping for more creatures and suspense than all this yak yak yak about a missing kid. I mean I like kids but it absorbed the whole damn film, not to mention they didn't explain a damn thing about the ending. If they had died in the accident their bodies would have still been there and their souls would have been the ones in the other world. If they did not die they why did they not return to our world at the end of the film?
Ok I'm getting off topic. I watched National Treasure tonight for maybe the sixth time. That's a film with some real exploration potential, some of my other favorites are The Score, RE1 (Resident Evil), The Saint, Dracula 2000, The Rock and The Italian Job. All of them have very nice subterranean settings that would be wonderous exploration opportunities. Oh lets not forget Moria in LOTR, now that would be an exploration of a lifetime if we lived in that world.

Peter Cushing, John Carradine, Brooke Adams.
And one sharing a similar theme... "Zombie Lake" (1981) which also has UNZs.
(Underwater Nazi Zombie. See? It happens so often there's actually a term for it.)
