| | | It's possible I'm sure. He had the old tate mansion for a recording studio for quite awhile to, and in "down in it" he was running through abandoned warehouses and parking garages till he "parkour'd" to his death off the top, maybe he's got a little UE in him. :p

| | | Certain scenes in Constantine had a sort of UE feel to them. Never mind that Keanu Reeves did not do that movie justice. Also, what about the abandoned underground in V for Vendetta?

And speaking of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl (current release date: Q1 2007), has anyone ever seen the movie that it is loosely based on?
|
STALKER is easily one of my favorite movies of all time. You should try downloading it on the pirate bay since it's price is pretty steep on DVD. It has dreary and bleak landscapes, giant rotting tanks long defunct in fields, old sewer systems, etc. It fits the UE vibe for me more than any other movie.

| | | There was a scene in Garden State. The one with the huge crater in the Earth and they didn't know how far it went down. Also, exploring a boat like the one on the ravine would be pretty sick. I'd love to go down that huge crater and see what's down there!

AMEN! I don't know if you're joking or not but in TMNT II where they find the old AWESOME abandoned subway station... wow. That movie probably subconciously got me into UE when I was like 5. Also, 28 Days Later is one of the better zombie movies. Has anyone noticed that a lot of these movies are horror movies/a lot of horrow movies have abandoned places? Maybe that's why a lot of people are afraid to UE...

| | | Rose Red. Not so much the interior scenes of the mansion, but the backdrop shots remind me of some of those cool old hospitals Y'all East-Coasters have to poke around in. Out here in CA we bulldoze anything over 60 years old or turn it into a renovated museum.

| | | Original Gangstas (1996) - Gary, Indiana - dilapidated buildings - abandoned industrial base. True, actually. See its history: Wiki: Gary, Indiana But some of the street scenes had to be made extra trashy and buildings on fire and such, only to be put back to their original decrepit splendor once the movie crew was done. Dark Water (2005) - run-down apartment building. Some of the aerial shots of the entire apartment complex are amazing - though probably a model or CGI. The building isn't entirely unoccupied but feels like it is. Creepy corridors, unoccupied apartments... and rooftop.

| | | In addition to the great picks everyone else has already made I have a confession...I've always had a soft spot in my heart for C.H.U.D. True the movie possesses a few weak elements (the rubber monsters with their silly elongating necks, the crazed acting by not one but TWO future Home Alone actors, the plot), but I've always been enamored by the scenes in the sewer. For as B of a movie as it is I've always felt respect that they actually finagled a shooting permit in one of the abandoned vaults in the Brooklyn Bridge.

| | | How about Hellboy? All those old, abandoned underground train tunnels; and the abandoned resivior? Then you have the innercity with lots of UE sites, then the graveyard, and the mueseum.
