| | | Hey Everyone Well i'm a newbi here so I wanted to say HI and introduce myself. Names Mike i'm 26/m from Perrysburg, most friends call me by my nickname Kibble. I have been exploring/ghost hunting since i was probably about 13 I think. The group I use to go with kind of broke up as people went to college and such so I been a loner. Friend of mine Jellybeans95 that's on here turned me onto the sight so i'm going to see how things good and hope to meet some new people and see some new places. If anyone was on Forgotten Ohio before I was responsible for the picture of the Potter House that use to be out in BG before they burnt it down. Unfortunately the b$%*h that use to go with us posted them and took credit but I do believe I still have them here at home. Kind of miss the place really I had been out there 5 or 6 times. But I do know of a few other placed out in the sticks near me to check out too. But ya I hopes all goes good and look forward to meeting anyone who wants to chat/hang out. BTW I'm rather open so don't be afraid to chat with me or ask me things, I'll answer. Thank guys and girls. [last edit 8/3/2009 9:42 PM by Kibble's&Bit's - edited 1 times]

| | | Whats up everyone. My name is Scott and I am 21, from Albany NY. I am an aspiring photographer with a passion for historic architecture and abandoned structures. There are a lot of interesting places around where I live and last night I had the opportunity to visit the abandoned asylum in Saratoga County. I am going back to take pictures and will post them when I do. Anyway if there is anything else you want to know just ask!

| | Hello UER community. <Reply # 1364 on 8/5/2009 2:25 AM >
| | | Hi, I'm known as hojpoj, but some call me hoj, or odjpoj... It really doesn't matter... I've been exploring for almost a year now and have seen some remarkable places that I never knew were around me through this activity and feel a strange kinship to the adventures that I've been on. I'm from the Northeast Ohio area (those of you who are around here know what a goldmine it is for exploring) and have seen places such as old abandoned factories, mansions, and amusement parks turn into wild places of adventure and excitement. I'm hoping to share some of my recent adventures with this community and maybe learn a little in the process. Some of my latest adventures have been documented with my nice shiny new Canon G10, which I had to get for a photography class I took over the summer and have had a great time getting some of my work from exploring into the classroom and my portfolio... Hopefully everyone will like what I've gotten as much as I do! Well that's it for now I suppose. Cheers! hojpoj

| | | Hi, My name is Dave 31/M/Rochester, NY... New to this site, but have always had a fascination with exploring abandoned places. I don't think I could be in a better place, Rochester seems to be full of abandoned buildings. Looking for some other Rochester explorers to get my feet wet with. Not looking to get into any trouble doing this though! I also love to take pictures, I like to get unique angles or lighting conditions but am an amature photographer for sure. -Dave

| | | Hi everyone, I'd like to take this opportunity to formally introduce myself to the UER community. I hail from the great state of Texas. Currently I reside in Houston and I'm moving my way on to Austin soon. Mostly I've gone out with another member here on the forums and explored. I just recently purchased my first DSLR and hopefully you guys can give me some pointers on my pictures. Awesome. [last edit 8/7/2009 3:09 AM by CheesesChrist - edited 1 times]

| | | I guess I`ll finally make a post here too. I guess I`m a new member tho I`ve been browsing the site for quite some time, never really bothering to make an effort to become a full member. I`m 24 year old guy from Finland and have been doing UE for quite some time already. I guess I am quite well known in the scene in Finland. I`m also a moderator of the finnish UE messageboard. I also do martial arts and parkour and play the guitar. I`m writing this from Japan actually, as I`m longboarding through it right now and am about to get to Tokyo in a few days. I actually started posting here mostly because I`ve found few really cool sites that aren`t on the UE database. I`ll add them there when I get home where I can properly edit the pictures.

| | | Apparently I neglected to post an introduction, for, like, ever. Hi, i'm Eric, and I used to do a whole lot of UE in Montreal, before lifedrama got in the way and I got sidelined about two years ago. Getting back in the mood, going back in the field, doing the Amazing Race this weekend to see if I still have the chops. Hurray.

| | | I was told to introduce myself by a friend so I suppose I better get to that now before I forget. My name is Carl and I'm new to uer.ca* but not entirely new to exploring. I'd say I have some experience but certainly not a lot compared to some people I know. I'm in the Rochester, NY area and although I do like checking out a lot of the interesting abandoned places the main reason I do a lot of things is to get photos, and exploring is no different. I have some photos from some of my exploring trips on my site. *I know I made an account here years ago but never used it... can't find it or even remember what email I must have used at the time! | | | Hi. I'm 'the opposite'...I joined your site a few months ago. I live in North Carolina. Have done very little interior exploring around here, ways in are hard to find and most of the buildings I know about are flanked by houses. Mostly in sketchy neighborhoods, so I don't go there alone. But I do have a lot of places found that would be great to share. I'm not really interested in looking through the database, since I'd rather be surprised myself and I'm sure most of these finds are probably there. I am not a very good photographer, but I try. Besides abandoned mills, factories, I've taken tons of photos of cityscapes (I spent a week in Toronto in June walking around taking pictures of everything) And I also look for old buses, and water towers. At least one person has been nice enough to reach out and offer a gathering- which I've missed because I only realized it was happening today, and is just over with! I'm not trying to get into this fulltime, but if you are in my area and open to someone new then PM me.

I'd love to know more places in Boston and the surrounding area to visit, as well as photography tips for low light situations, etc. My name's Allie, and this is definitely my new favorite hobby.

| | | Hi all. I was referred to your site by Freak. I came across his site after my interest was piqued in our local gold dredge history. His pictures and stories inspired me to visit many of the locations and even visit at least one dredge that he had not been to. Im really interested in anything abandoned and historic. Alaska is full of history much of it remote, but very worth exploring. I hope to be able to contribute some good stories and good pictures to other members and maybe become an inspiration for someone else.

| | | Greetings and Salutations! I am pleased to be a new member of this forum! I enjoy history and architecture, as well as random exploration. If the site is supposedly haunted, so much the better! My absolute dream infiltration is to get back to Paris and find my way through the underground passages into the cellars of the Palais Garnier. I think I could die happy at that point. I look forward to hearing about all of the really fantastic hidden places there are.

| | Newbie here; intro :-) <Reply # 1378 on 8/10/2009 1:30 AM >
| | | Hi there, I'm Dion and I plan on being around here for awhile. I'm 22yrs old; a college student majoring in business/accounting. I've been really interested in old buildings and whatnot for as long as I can remember. When I was young and in the boyscouts, I loved hiking down areas that led to really old settlements that had been since covered in forest. There wasn't a whole lot to see, but just being able to figure out the foundations of old homes and see things like coke bottles from the early 1900s was more than enough. During high school, I would get high and drive around randomly and we came across this really strange place in my hometown which was entirely abandoned; had been for many years. I researched the history of the place, which turned out to be an old cow slaughtering place, and inspected it real well, even to the point of researching the "gang" (if you can call it that) that had left graffiti in there. For anyone who's interested, this place is located in Northbridge, MA. If you msg me I'll give you directions to it. It's worth a look, though it's since been used for paintballing and pretty much screwed up by the people in my highschool who don't know how to respect an old historic building like that. After researching that place, I came across the Urban Exploring thing, which was about 5yrs ago. I hadn't really gotten too into it, just making use of the things I happen to cross in my daily life. But now, I'm thinking about making some moves toward places I wouldn't have ever considered in my past. I've done some resaerch on UER to see of any places near me and I have two mills in the area I'm getting ready to go check out. I've seen tons of pictures, but nothing matches up to being able to go there myself. Anyway, as far as things to take with me on my trek, I've brought it down to a simple first aid kit, flashlight, facemask (woudln't want to inhale asbestos), and a camera of course. If there's any other recommendations, I'd be glad to take them. When I talk to some of my friends who don't really know what UE is, they are rather insistant of me going with someone else, but I really would rather do this alone. I kind of enjoy the alone time of this and discovering things by myself. I guess they're afraid I'll hurt myself or something. I don't see that happening. :-p [last edit 8/10/2009 1:44 AM by Dion - edited 1 times]

off topic, but these old adverts about asbestos always make me laugh
