From my perspective having talked to a molecular geneticist and other epidemiologists I think that their should be a way to acquire economic reparations against whatever country caused it. You can bet you last dollar if its origin was here then we would be paying. A lot of people are just fucked...just my 2 cents.

Kabbalah is an undramatic tradition that requires great patience and stability. One of the reasons for this tempo is that everyone has to mature his potential gradually and thoroughly at his natural pace. In this way his life's work unfolds at the right moment in his own and the cosmos's time. Z.B.S. Halevi -- Kabbalah |

Are you guys still out exploring? I'm avoiding it until, hopefully, the rate decreases. But if it takes too long, I don't know how much longer the explorer side of me will hold on :/

Why wouldn't you explore during this? No people, no exposure. Wear gloves at gas pump and use a card...

Currently on day 12 of lockdown. Not allowed to leave the house except to go to the grocery store. A couple of days ago I could at least go out hiking but officials are beginning to shut down the local parks as well. If police find that you are just out and about they can fine you or worse. It was at first just a threat but now they are beginning to enforce it. Needless to say I won't be able to explore for a little while.

Yeah true. I'm slightly paranoid. But that might be too irrational for me. And on the other hand, you do make a good point. There will be less people to worry about. I'm going to go exploring next week after situating everything around me first.

Yeah wherever is reasonable at least. Since I’m unable to drive yet, and public transit would only increase my chances of getting covid-19, I just take my bike around.

There's lockdown in all of Illinois where I am. Up until April 7th at least. After that, police won't fine you for going out so that's when I'll start getting back to exploring as regularly as before

Bikes are great just secure it... don't get it ripped off!!! Best not to ever leave it out of your sight. Sometimes hiding it works best. Hide it where people don't go ie dense vegetation and then cover it. Eyes everywhere... don't be spotted stashing it or riding in! Car + bike is great

I primarily travel via bicycle. I like them alot more than cars.
If your uncle Jack were stuck on a roof. And he asked for your help. Would you help your uncle Jack off? |
|
If you're a car-dependent explorer, you might have a bad time depending how badly your area is locked down. That said, I've never had/needed one here, so this is good exploring time.

University of Washington has created a program that has taken the data from every US state (and the US as a whole), and created a probability timeline for each state’s Coronavirus peaks (most CoVid-19 cases in a single day and also most deaths in a single day). They have also included the number of hospital beds each state has available currently vs. number that will be needed, as well as the approximate number of ventilators that will be needed. The data is, of course, only a possible outcome based on the data available. Although it isn’t possible to predict the future with complete accuracy, it is a grim look at our collective future as a country for the next few months. They also include the cumulative numbers of these two figures for the US and each state up to August 3rd, 2020. Unfortunately, we are all victims of mathematics.., (and really bad response from our leadership). This is an absolutely horrifying glimpse into our near future. https://covid19.he...ta.org/projections Here is a snapshot from my state’s projected death toll (Texas). We actually fare considerably better than many other states with regard to beds and supplies according to this data.

I am. Not likely to get it by myself in a rotten building. Much more likely to get it, going to the grocery store.

It's all about lifestyle... https://www.google...irus-response/amp/ The NY mayor set a shining example of how to kill friends and fuel a pandemic. Rule #1 avoid gyms.

Holy fuck. “Rhode Island police began stopping cars with New York plates Friday. On Saturday, the National Guard will help them conduct house-to-house searches to find people who traveled from New York and demand 14 days of self-quarantine.”
I had to check to make sure I wasn’t accidentally reading “The Onion,” or “The Globe.” No, that quote is from fucking Bloomberg news. Edit: That freaked me out so much I forgot to include the source link: https://www.bloomb...m_source=applenews

I knew the fucking national guard wasn’t deployed just to hand out kids’ meals, shoot the shit, and look pretty as soon as they joined the party in that NY suburb.

In Iowa, we had a 2-day doubling rate which went to 4-day and is holding at 4-days for 298 currently confirmed cases.
If you recall my remark in the previous thread about Orthodox Judaism and "the party must go on", well somebody decided to put their foot down. Read at your own risk. It's written in Yeshivish English and Google Translate won't help you. https://vosizneias...onavirus-pandemic/

In Florida they have the National Guard manning checkpoints at the state line to stop travellers from NYC. https://www.news4j...york-city-drivers/

My 9 year old just asked me if the National Guard is shooting people for being on the street. My response: "not yet."
