We LOVE the W-body... that's an Impala with old school MonteCarlo/Luminator wheels on it. they were a rugged car that would take a trailer-park class beating. Also, I can't believe someone still has a functioning Chevy LUV pickup... that's astounding.

I drove an Impala identical to that one (minus the Monte Carlo pace car rims) as part of a medical driving test. It had some sort of system for amputees installed, which was...interesting to deal with. Technically speaking, I'm sure the car accelerated at some point, but I'm not sure I ever felt it "go", per se. And yeah, it's incredibly rare to see a vehicle like the LUV around here. I don't know about the frame, but the body wasn't even that rusty. Kind of surprised I didn't see more of those when I visited the southwest - surely they must all be hiding down there, or else they've been junked.
Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing. |

There's a guy out in the lovely Oregon city of Estacada who has a still running Diesel Luv...

the last Chevy LUV i saw moving under its own power and registered was in 1993 in Wadhams NY near a swimming hole... it was yanking a Subaru out of a ravine that had flipped on to its roof.

I'm surprised it had that much power.

it actually skidded it out of the ravine quite handily. it took us and the drunk idiots that flipped it over in the first place to right the Subie.

3.5 years ago I found this one in Chicago one night when I was heading home from Gary... and subsequently watched some cunt in an MDX back into it and drive away.
Almost a year to the date I actually met the owner at the former Royal Crown plant that has since been demolished. He teaches street art at the University of Oregon every summer, and travels the country in that truck documenting graffiti. Once in awhile it shows up on his Instagram, it has a little more body rust, now.

My buddy has one of these. Only 2000 made, all in black. AWD Turbo 6 speed, putting out close to 280 hp stock I believe. Pretty cool car.

O'Reilly's in Round Lake. Cleanest 80s Thunderbird I've ever seen - and a Turbocoupe to boot.

I really like that, these usually never appeal to me I guess because there always falling apart with some white trash driving them.

in my opinion, the best years were 83-86... i never liked the 'beaky' 87 and 88. And the SuperCoupes that followed the Fox-body Birds were just horrid. My friend Shawn had an 86 T-coupe and that car was insanely quick. Didn't handle half bad either come to think of it. These are a Ford I would drive.

IIRC it was the same turbo-four the XR4Ti had; I'd drive either of them.

i had an XR4Ti... an 86. the Intercooler on the 87-88 T-coupe was a joke... it was located right about the exhaust header and turbo assembly. Yeah, real cool air there.

If posting without pics is okay; saw a mint VW Harlequin Golf the other day. And two Corsicas. And a '74 Camaro. The VW was moving, the Corks and Camaro were parked in places where they would need to move by the end of the day. I know; this post won't change your life :) Also this shot today: Kind of beating the bowtie and trucks are for girls thing a bit hard, or something...

I had an 88 with over 200k on it. I had to move the spare because it was falling through the trunk. Plus the instrument cluster didn't light up, so it was very difficult to know how fast I was going, which was never very fast.
