Here's Ford's counterpart to that Chevy LUV. Whereas the LUV was an Isuzu, the Ford Courier was a rebadged Mazda...
Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing. |

my parents had a 79 Courier... the doors used to unlatch in corners. Great fun for the family. The one in this ^ picture has Ford Fairmont hubcaps on it.

I used to have an '82 Rabbit that did that- only problem was it used to accelerate unintentionally like, well, a scared rabbit, and the seatbelts were attached to the door frame.

i got in an argument over Rabbit seatbelts the other day... as I have told you before the 79 Rabbit that tried to kill me had seatbelts in it like a Beetle. D-ring in the floor between the seats that the belts clipped to. I always figured that this car was a European model. These made their way into northern New York via the now closed air force base. Any weapon I can use to settle the argument? The guy insists that Rabbits never had seatbelts like that.

I've never seen that in a Rabbit but wouldn't doubt if something like that was used in European models. If it came from Europe it would have been badged as a Golf though.

it was a baby blue/sky blue/whatever blue 1979 Rabbit 3-door with a 4-speed manual. Also, the big ring on the speedo was in kilometers per instead of miles. That was a big laugh with my Mercury Bobcat (Canadian car).

Apparently, Henry Ford II didn't know the Courier was from a Japanaese company until Lee Iaccoca when he was a Ford told him in an argument about investing in Honda instead...

Oh, this was at a show last month...

There is one of these in the woods by a abandoned cabin just up the road from my cabin. Judging by the inspection and reg stickers its been rotting there since 83 or 84. I will try to dig up the pictures I have.

there is a red hardtop TC3 sitting in the bushes next to a house here in Moriah NY. It's been there for over 20 years.

I stopped for gas in Moriah on my way to Vermont earlier this year. Never thought I would hear that town mentioned again! It was the first time in awhile I had seen the old school non digital gas pumps. I was shocked they had 93 octane.

Moriah or Moira? there is a difference. I live in the town of Moriah, Essex County. The town of Moira is north of here in Clinton or Franklin County.
|
|
Must have been Moira. It's on route 11 between Potsdam and Malone. I had no idea there were two towns with such similar names.

I spotted this one.
And also this....
And while I was finding those, I stumbled across these two:
dsankt: In fact, the day I die yall are welcome to form an orderly queue and run a train on my eye sockets. I'll be dead and frankly, will not give a f*ck. budda: That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Fuck me sideways this is insane. ~~~~~~ Because it's Cincinnati |

I wonder if she traded in her MG for that.

For those of you who might find yourselves in Cleveland, the Lakewood Car Kulture show is tomorrow (Sat. Aug. 15) on Madison Ave. in Lakewood. No car newer than '74 is allowed. I'll be there with my scout troop, selling hot dogs. They also have bands and vendors and stuff, and local merchants do a lot of specials as well. I'll post some pictures after.
