Its the name of a chainsaw brand that I was a dealer for and used during 14 years of logging. Keep using it because I have never, ever been told that the user name was already taken.

I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread.

I picked up the name while on a highly sought after course in the military. I zone in when I shoot and people told me that it seemed zen like of me, hence the nick.

My real, legal name is actually Wolf. I despised people calling me Wolfy.

I was teaching a scuba course once and one of my co-instructors called me Wolfy. When I expressed my dismay at this he said "what about Wolfmaan?"

At the dawning of the Internet age I added an extra "A" to make it unique. It ended up becoming my stage name, and my nom-de-plume, and used for everything.

Back in my teenage years I was in a band. We were playing a gig one time and our sound guy was more interested in playing the arcade games then doing our sound, so I went up behind him, lit a firecracker and put it in his back pocket....tada, Freddy Dynomite was born. And yes, you have to say it like JJ Walker, DY-NO-MITE!

When I was a young lass, I had this thing called "AIM". You might remember this dinosaur instant messaging program as well. Well, when I was in middle school it was kind of "in" or whatever.

Anyways, I was using a different name at the time but I was never happy with it. Ever. I began talking to this mysterious guy though. I never knew his name (I think it may have been Jeff?). We had mutual friends, but randomly conversed on occasions. We had spent months talking randomly and I mentioned the fact I needed a new screenname. He gave me AstroBerkman17.

One thing him and I bonded on was baseball. I LOVE the Astros and my favorite baseball player of all time is Lance Berkman and at the time he wore the number 17 for the Astros.

AstroBerkman17 is never taken anywhere, but when I joined UER, people started just calling me Astro.

So, Astro it is.

What is the story with that cartoon character on your default photo? I have been curious about that for over a year, but never been sure how to make the question to find the answer.

It came from Metal Gear Solid. Had it as a screen name for years and couldn't come up with something better when I signed up.

I love trains, especially the freights. "Benching the freights" is slang for photographing trains, especially the graffiti on them. My name just means I photographed "IT" and "IT" can be anything and everything. It's also a shorter version of "Benchedthatpiece" that I use in other places...

It's short for WhisperingWolf which is a nickname I've had since the BBS days. I also tend to go by Whispering, so if you see that name on a minecraft server or something it's most likely also me.

While growing up and exploring (not only abandoned buildings but forests, swamps, etc.), i always enjoyed finding ancient pieces of history; things you no longer come across brand new on the shelf. Artifacts or relics, if you will. Treasures that allow your imagination to tell a story of its past. I often kept these treasures as souvenirs.
Figured it was appropriate. Switched the 'c' to a 'k' for some reason, which i cannot remember at the time.
