Used to be a scrapyard. Now it's just a big open field with a Mustang on a pole.

Oh cool, thanks! What a glorious old land yacht it was. The rest of it might be buried around here somewhere.

Some more of my random spots over the last few months. I've found more cool vans this year than any other time I can remember, and I'm OK with that.

The truck is a Bedford RL 'Green Goddess'. They formed the Auxiliary Fire Service created after the end of the Second World War as part of Britain's civil defence network during the Cold War, as it was thought that an attack on the UK would cause major fires which the regular fire service, or what's left of it, would struggle to deal with. They aren't fire engines, they are technically 'self propelled pumps' with the main task of pumping huge amounts of water from lakes and rivers into cities hit by atomic weapons. They were disbanded in 1968 and after that they were used by the military during various fire fighters strikes to provide emergency cover up until 2004.

It's an Austin Metro Chairman - a conversion which allowed wheelchair users to be accommodated inside what is a very small car. The rear featured a metal ramp rather than a hatchback, and the fibreglass roof extension allowed for increased visibility and comfort. The Mk.1 Austin Metro it's based on is a rare car nowadays but Chairman conversions are the equivalent of a vehicular unicorn.
