Hurray for the Dodge Spirit! (had a 1993 base spec - till my sister in law bent it)

Chris...

We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit.

That's unfortunate she wrecked it. I don't see too many around anymore. Even less in decent shape. Very comfortable and good looking car IMHO. Mine has some major issues but I love it.

Samurai- Nice I love daytonas. The 84-86 body style ones are just beautiful. Had an 88 base model one a couple years back. Nice car till I went 40 mph straight into a concrete barrier. It still drove afterward. They don't make them like they used to.

Mine was cursed... i couldn't get the parts to fix what was wrong with it and it, sadly, went to the salvage yard. The Shadow was just too rotten to ever register... the engine went into a Daytona and the rest of the car was scrapped.

The same Daytona that was built on the K Car chassis?

Yeah some asshole blew off a stop sign and T-boned it. I had a look to repair but when it's been hit so hard it bent the rails it's time to let go!

It didn't handle well, it wasn't super fast, it broke down a lot, but by god it had your Granny's comfy sofa in the front and you could fit 5 drunken idiots in the back after a night out.

I've had 7 people in my Spirit before, and 6 in a 2 door lebaron. THey're small but extremely roomy.

Yeah. It's based off the K car chassis. Pretty much every car Chrysler built between 83 and 93 were based off the K platform.

Where is the lift kit & rally lights like its predecessor?

This one is the summer Tercel... actually I've had it for 5 years now, the "predecessor" only since the fall.

This one is dropped 3" (where the other one is lifted 3") and has a 16v twin cam 5EFHE under the hood.

And it still has Subaru Outback driving lights mounted in the front bumper!

Thanks!

Love the Spirit... I used to be huuuge into 2.2/2.5 Turbo Mopars, until we ran out of them in Ontario. My first car was an Omni GLH-S, followed by about 10 Daytonas/Laser

i am GM guy, but those first generation Daytona's and Lasers had that 'look'. Don't know what it was, but they looked like they would go 150mph all day long and beat your mom's ass for looking at them sideways. Sure they need some massaging to ever rock on at the high triple digits, but Mopar Direct Connection was more than happy to sell you whatever you needed to go faster. In fact, they were tuning small engines long before the Honda guys strapped on their VTEC cock extenders. Even now, you want cheap speed, find an older Turbo Mopar and have at it.

Remember the Lebaron GTC? All the goodies of the Shelby Daytona, WITH a backseat you could sit in.

...but if you folded the back seats down in the Daytona, you could do anything back there.

I slept in mine quite comfortably more than a few times.

...oh, you thought I meant something else.

Is that all grain Silos or something? Has "evil lair of the mole people King" written all over it.
