A couple of south-central Texas close-up shots.

Monument Hill SP, memorial to the victims of the Black Bean Death Lottery.

Lavaca County Courthouse, Hallettsville. I couldn't find anyone to buy my frozen armadillos.

Where were they?

They are located in a field off of Broadway in Galveston. There used to be a warehouse located there that dated back to WW2 but they demolished it and only left those two pieces of equipment standing.

Oh, I know where that is! It used to be a cotton place... they processed cotton. I'm surprised they left those two standing. Pretty cool that they did, though... and cool they came through the hurricane ok.

Funny, it looked like something you should find near shipyards yet it sounds like it doesn't really have much to do with it.

Makes sense , those machines appeared to be some sort of press. I'm glad they saved em , maybe they'll make it into a historical marker site.

We explored the Congress Ave tunnels at the Austin meet up yesterday. I didn't really take many pictures so I just went back a few minutes ago and took these:

1. We went in here.

2. And came out here.

The most interesting feature is that somehow one of the tunnels actually crosses over the other and then connects in several places. It's kinda confusing when you go into the left tunnel and then later find a connection on the left that leads to the tunnel that was on the right!
