Rockin' story Allva....wish more folks presented their UE adventures in such an interesting fashion! I'm not sure I coulda just left my car out in the middle of nowhere though. Seems like it wouldn't be too much farther to leave it somewhere near the border crossing, heck, even on the American side and cross on foot...is there anywhere there that would be a reasonable spot?

This is Robber Baron Cave. It's been explored in San Antonio since 20's. Photos are from top right: original access door, main entrance to the cave and diagram of the massive underground passage system. I'm looking into contacting Robber Barron Preserve about a possible tour of the cave.
Will see what happens.

Someone set the car on fire next to our van... and it exploded and our van went up in flames.. along with the mini van on the OTHER side of the car.

I wrote it all in a blog. I don't know what else to do with myself right now.

I, too, had heard Travis State was sealed up tight with construction crews everywhere. That's just not true. I went there 3 weeks ago on a Saturday and the place was a ghost town. A lot of the buildings have boards covering the doors, but they aren't nailed to a frame, and can be opened with ease.

I need to get back down that way sometime and finish the set. I was with some friends and we were just passing through on our way to float the river.

There were construction crews building some of the newer buildings several months ago but they've been finished for a while now.

Allva, I'm sure when you said that you were only over there for 2-3 hours he decided you were buying drugs and guns. Oh, and fruit.

I guess I took over 2 threads with my drama... oops.

But to answer your question.. the van belonged to a friend of my husband who had no need for it at the time. She let us borrow it, if we agreed to pay half the car payment until she was able to sell it to someone or us or whatever. She HAD full coverage on it since she was still paying on it... until a week ago. (5 days before the burning.) We had liability on it, that's all. She said she dropped it because she thought we had it covered. It's a huge drama filled story that maybe someone should make a movie about. It's crazy how ONE person and their actions can affect us all in so many ways.. and people we don't even know. The van was hers, but was in HER ex boyfriends name. He was aware of the situation and her lending it out and was cool with it, but now this affects him and he had nothing to do with any of this. *sigh*
