| | | When I first started getting into exploring and the website, I bought a few of the key chain flashlights, and for a while I kept one on my key ring. It would often be on me as I went exploring, even though I never actually needed to use it for anything, since I was already carrying multiple other flashlights. After thinking about it one night, I decided to remove it from the key ring in the event that I am caught or arrested while running around. My reasoning for this was two-fold. First of all, I realized that I didn't want to draw extra heat to the site, which could potentially cause problems for a lot more people than myself. Secondly, I reasoned that with my clothing and physical description, as well as a hint on where to start looking online, local investigators with a little bit of perseverance would probably be able to find old posts I had made and theoretically end up charging me for other instances of trespassing. I know the odds on this are not that great, and most police departments have bigger fish to fry, but you never know. I'd hate to get arrested and charged for one event, then suddenly have six or eight more charges pile up because a few cops felt like making an example of me. I'm sure I'm not the only person to come to this decision, and it may be so obvious to you guys that it should go without saying. I also don't have any problem with the site's key chain flashlights. But it is definitely something to think about, especially if you think there is much risk of being discovered on an explore.

| I went through a similar thought process. Whenever I'm stopped by the cops, the last thing on my mind is explaining UER and urban exploration, because that will just make me look like a pathological offender, and might get them to investigate me closer.
