Best way I know to achieve Full Member status is show us your stuff. No, you dont need a camera to be a Full Member or even an explorer but that seems to weigh heavily in your favor so, that being said lets see your UE pics!

ps: dont be afraid to embellish your imagery with some text, a story or description of how you came to explore the location etc.

edit: self help with pics

You dont even need anything fancy. Free software such as Irfanview http://www.irfanview.com/ will help you manage your image size and your file size or sign up for free image hosting and link your pic to the forum

If you upload your images to the forum file size needs to be 100kb or less

Image size should be no larger than 800x600 (640x480 is ideal)

Hope this helps

i think this will be great. because every time the site asks for my opinion on them i have very little to go on with only their posts. they are a pain to go through and often have no pictures or stories.

F this I"m going exploring!

While I would like to promise that no one will rag on your pics I cant.

I will promise that I wont but some people derive their perceived greatness by degrading the efforts of others. Human nature.

Dont be too sensitive damn it! What possible harm can come to you if some anonymous jerk on the Internet says your pics are crappy or not artistic enough because you used a flash or an entry level camera? Just take the criticism for whatever its worth. The LDB is full of craptacular photos but most adequately document what the location looks like.

Anyway this isnt about photographic quality so much as it is showing something youve explored! It may even separate you from the guys that come on the forum and ask:

"I live in Suchandsuch can anyone tell me where to find some rad places to explore"

In other words go for it. You'll never know until you try. You can always post pics in the appropriate local board but I thought having some in the Rookie forum would be fun and beneficial.

Im predicting this whole thread/effort will fail. Prove me wrong! If it works maybe one of the mods will pin this thread.

So far, no takers?

I take pics using a A600 Fuji Digital camera we bought for daily use..........I also take pics using my cell phone camera. Depends on the location and the tools I have with me. I'm not a photographer by trade but I am into UE and I use what I have. If someone doesn't like it...........so what.

Some guys and gals on here have some of the most High tech photo equipment you can think of. The photos they take are amazing. But if they drop their camera and break it or lose it in a vat of green ooooze or puddle of brown water or it gets stolen by some criminal element thats been hiding in an abandoned building, they could be out several thousand dollars..............I lose $99.00 and then go buy another camera. That makes this hobby affordable in my book especially with gas prices climbing every day.

You just can't take anything anyone says personally on the internet otherwise you might as well not get on. But you also have to realize that a little criticism may help you on your next quest and with the quality of photos these guys take, thats a good thing.

Post away!!!!

Peace

A local drain. I call it the postal pipeline for its adjacency to the local post office. It was only about 4ft in diameter, and turns into a shrinker after 4 manhole covers. I had a couple pictures from further up, but they got deleted.

and a video, too: http://s71.photobu...rent=DrainExit.flv

Sorry for the crappy pics, but my tripod was very inconvenient to lug through this tiny drain.

I'll also post some of the other pics that I am proud of:

The famous mill in Seattle, where I've been 4 times now and still wanting to go back. These pics are from various expeditions. Thanks to muthafremix for taking me on my first expedition.

-----

Tunnels under my school, which I have been investigating lately. These are the first 2 quick pictures I've snapped inside. The first is zoomed from about 4 stories up; I really wasn't expecting them to be that deep.

-----

My first roofing expedition. Another school thing, it took me a while to get up the courage to climb the 20ft ladder to the roof hatch. Last picture was me freaking out as I peeked in a door up there to find an office desk, luckily unoccupied.

-----

An old brewery south of here. We got busted this day by security, but luckily the guard was pretty cool and just told us to leave. It probably helped that she thought we were just taking pictures (we were at that point). Thanks to muthafremix for taking me there.

-----

A concrete silo near the mill. We failed to get into the mill this day because it was semi-active with some work going on, draining the basement and such, so we went down the street to this place.

-----

This was a company archery range for Boeing that TomUE took me to along with Railguy. It was a little nerve wracking being that close to somewhere that was probably 9-11 affected.

Sorry, that was a bit much, but since this thread it dedicated to this...

I might aswell throw a few in here to try and keep it on track.

Wallescote Soda Ash Works. Based next to the live site and connected by a 'bridge'. This place had suffered since it's closure but it got rid of my fear of heights.

Royal Doulton became world famous for thier pottery which became collector's items. Explore was mint. Trashed by Pikeys but fun nonetheless.

Just Mugs. Untrashed and full of stuff. I loved that place.

Whittingham Asylum. Been many many times and I love it. I have thousands of photos of the place.

St. Joseph's Seminary. Best place I have ever been. Untrashed, full of stuff and like stepping back in time. Could have spent forever in there. Went back a few times.

Annesley Colliery. Part of a 28DaysLater group visit. Trashed but full of stuff and full of history. Another great place. Climbing that headstock was bloody scary.

Just a couple of the many sites I have been to.
