Some Local Canal tunnels and locks, for those who haven't seen em (and some unposted ones too):
And here are a couple from Benson's Animal Farm, "The Strangest Farm on Earth" (one of my new favorite sites:
(that's me in the former home of Colossus the Gorilla)
Hoping to revisit some mills today and get some fresh shots, hopefully I'll have those up soon. GREAT pics by the way, guys, I'm seriously impressed

| | | ok...this thread says "post your INFILTRATION pics here" correct me if im wrong but an infiltration takes place one of these types of locations.... 1. active 2. semiactive 3. guarded active 4. guarded semiactive 5. guarded abandoned in my opinion, what isnt an infiltration are locations like this 1. the whore of your town covered in spray paint 2. squats 3. paintball locations (see #1) 4. rural abandonments 5. etc etc etc with that said, i do see that this is in the rookie forum but still....its called infiltration pics...not random bombed out sites in the forest

Oh, come on. This is the Rookie forum. It's a place for new people to show off the places they've been exploring. Quit being such a pedant, and cut them some slack.

| | | Posted by Pie4Weebl hey zippy, You might want to head back there and it seems you missed the best part IMO of that site, the crane. The railroad tracks in the back aren't actually the end of the site as you may have thought, if you wander down the path there is more back there, but aside from the crane it is most just the footprints of buildings that were.

Nah, we saw it. We had two different cameras with us and those pics were off of my camera. My boyfriend has the others and he took the ones of that area. It was looking a bit rickety and there was a lot of activity on the river that day so we only took a few shots from the ground, we didn't go onto the actual structure.

And good point, thats exactly what I had in mind. Not just a thread to show off your photo skills but a place to show off your "infiltration" skills. We have photography threads already. Infiltration. Exploring. Two distinctly separate skills but I say to everyone, post away with what ya got. Your best shot as it were is still welcome here. I'll take a blurry hand held under-exposed image of some kick ass never before seen off-limits location any day over a perfectly post processed artsy composition of a state park. To me its all about the trip/adventure (since Im a comparatively lousy photographer) example: dsankts multi installment threads on Slaying the King. (dont hate me for this dsankt) some of the accompanying photos are arguably snapshotish, but they document a killer adventure and could any of you argue that his mine trip isnt the killer stuff exploring dreams are made of? Just my take, post away with what ever ya'll want [last edit 6/27/2007 3:24 AM by Explorer Zero - edited 2 times]

Is that where the nightclub was? There was a spot covered with a sort of pink carpet. Doesn't look it in that photo, but the room looks quite familiar.

St. Joseph's Seminary. Best place I have ever been. Untrashed, full of stuff and like stepping back in time. Could have spent forever in there. Went back a few times.

Great location, great shots, especially liked the dead bird on the book. Tell that wasn't a set up and I will be very surprised, as well as impressed. Too bad it wasn't an Edgar Allan Poe book! Quoth the raven "Never more"

| | | Here are some pictures I took at an abandoned motel on I44 near Meramec State Park:
Here are a few more from the Ironworks in Meramec park. The site is located in the corner and you actually have to leave the park and follow some old roads to get there:

| | | Infiltration of an old warehouse and an office, Nagyvásártelep, Budapest, Hungary. The location was one of Budapest's great warehouses, it's name translates into something like "Bigmarketdistrict"... Built somewhere between the 1890s and 1910s probably - what's for sure is that it was operational in 1932 As you see the location is a warehouse, and an office attached to it. The goal was the office building. It was 5 stories high, and from the remnants we've seen that it had elevators, and all sortsa cool stuff. We even found the blueprints for the whole location!! (That we had to bring home, the place will be pulled down soonish)... Had to be tricky since demolition workers and security were all around... Enjoy!
More info about the trip and the location at my UEx blog @ http://urbexhungary.blogspot.com ... Lazy to write the whole stuff again

Not exactly a rookie in UE but new to this site. I have been doing this kind of exploration since about 1988 and have been photographing the explorations all along. The above photo is a digital IR taken with a canon EOS 350D with a hoya R72 filter. The location is an abandoned facility that housed special needs people. Cheers, Ouroboros
It is prophesied that when the end comes, it will come in darkness: a catastrophe all foresaw but few believed. Most of us will battle too late against the chaos, but not the few, the radical few, who obey no discipline. Unencumbered by conscience, they prepare ruthlessly pursuing their own preservation. If they survive, the rest of us perish. |

| | | I just got these developed and it it turns out Rite Aid ruined every picture. I dont know about photography but i use a kodak advantec film. every image was double exposed with forest images that i know i did not take. these are the best looking pics i could get from the bunch. These are from a mansion fairly close to my house that has been boarded up for as long as i can remember. I is amazing inside but none of those pics are viewable. there is a huge ball room with full bar, a grand spiral stair case with gold plated pickets and several large bedrooms.
and here is an over view of the property.
and then some drain pics with a very crazy jungle effect

The first time I was there, I don't recall it being on the book like that, the second time I went, I definately noticed it. The bird was slightly decomposing I certainly wouldn't touch it. As for it being set up by someone else, I suppose it is possible. However it wasn't by anyone with me on any of my visits.

| | | Guess I have to be more active in becoming a full member, so here are pics from a while back My brother and I were rooftop hacking and decided to hit up the Hilton Hotel in our area. We found the door which was open to the attic, which from there we were able to access inside the clock tower and the roof. The roof had a lovely view of the ballpark right next to it. My brother had the camera... wish I took a picture of the electronics for the clock. It felt awesome being in the attic with our mini maglights.
