|  | | | This is a hobby that is based around an illegal activity, that carries great personal risk, and that most people would consider thoroughly undesirable. I'd think I'd have a pretty well thought out reasoning behind it, but I find myself having a hard time articulating exactly why I want to sneak into the guarded, secret, or forgotten places of the world. So, what gives? Is it the thrill of breaking the law? Is it the "boldly going where no man has gone before" mentality? Maybe the photographic opportunities? Do we just like the smell of asbestos? What are the underlying motivations that drive you to do it?
Be careful, not safe.

On a serious note, it is not necessarily an illegal hobby. Increasingly, I am making contact with the property owners to seek permission. There are no associated risks of getting caught or chased off the property.
If that fails... well... then it becomes illegal.
