| | | Got caught from a security guard at an old hotel, best thing to do is always scout the location for security cars, or security patrols!

| | | And as what has been said numerous times, don't park nearby!! You also need to be careful of who you go exploring with, because when you aren't alone it's much easier to be caught if you are with someone who is very new or just plain up stupid.

I learned that the hard way by going with three other people to a small location. We were like an elephant in a small room. We were begging to get caught. I learned one of the best things to do is just look like you belong there and no one will bother you.

| | | I've waved at security once and he waved back, then drove past me. I was on my way under a fence and off the property at the time so I think he was happy to just let me go rather than get out of his car in the cold and deal with me. Hiding in a ditch has worked, and hiding between planks of wood once in a lumber yard :p

| | | You know if you shoot film you don't need to worry about memory cards, and its obviously kind of hard to see the pics before it gets developed.

| | | Well theres night time and day time criteria... during the day try to keep in the buildings for cover, also always look out the windows frequently to make sure u dont have a unwanted guest on approach... at night u can basically stay inside or outside the building, the problem is ur flashlight stick to a led light cause it doesnt stand out as bad, also create a flashlight cover... a bottle cap and electrical tape will work, make this so the light concentration only shines forward and not to the sides where u dont need it, avoid shining the light near windows and shine it at the ground where ur walking. JUST ENOUGHT LIGHT TO SEE AND UR SAFE AS CAN BE

| | | Ok so you bring a box of donuts, and if you see security/ cops, throw it at them and run, they will be too distracted with the free donuts to chase you. Of course this could backfire, as the security/cops might sniff out the free donuts and it could lead them right to you.

| | | Basically, I just follow: 1. Don't park near the location 2. Stop to listen often 3. Know your exits

| | | I've been sneaking around since I was a wee tyke. Years of experience has given me the ability to sort out noises. Anything that doesn't sound natural puts my guard up. Now, I don't flee the second I hear something suspicious. I wait for a minute in perfect stillness to see if I hear it again. When Urbexing with a partner, we use a set of hand-signals. When I find reasonable cause to run like hell, I try to make it subtle. Use cover. I'd rather run away and then return then get caught. One place I explored was right across from a major police station. Talk about edginess.
Behind every mistake, there is a lesson. I'm just not that great at learning them! |

| | | I let other people explore the place for me then come back and tell me how cool it was. Its all the fun of being there with none of the risk. Plus you also get to make up how super ninja and awesome you were and how nobody else could have ever done the things you could. If you chose to.

| | | Run. Duck.Apparently, scuttle behind a hedge to stay out of line of sight of the SuperCobra doing a flyby a hundred feet to my left in a valley and dead level with the ridge I'm standing on, then squat-walking around the hedge to stay hidden while it passes. Then sprinting. Then more ducking when it comes by for a second pass. Then more sprinting. Fuck me. Basically whatever I have to short of grievous harm.
