I know that we aren't always in the best shape, but after a long UE soreness can follow. so the question I want to pose for everyone is how do you get in shape/practice for your UE? Personally I practice with a culvert by where I live. to keep limber and check gear before longer missions and such. so how about you?

I only had soreness the very first UE I had. Of course since then I've had injuries.

I run (kind of funny)....I just run as long as I can before I am wiped out. Then I walk home. None of that fancy ass jogging around the block. I figure that's pretty much good practice for UE...

Also I used to do crunches and sit ups. That was before I messed up a rib; now if I even cough it hurts, so I can't do any crunches or sit ups, but I can do push ups.

And of course, pull ups....

I have personally been chased by figures of authority on more than a handful of instances, and in each one of these instances, was able to out run or evade capture.

Figures of authority? Evade capture? Do you go on missions?

Get down, girl, go 'head, get down.

I was looking around on some other sites today and the getfancy group uses like a playground or something like that to keep their skill sharp. Just thought that was kinda a cool idea.

besides 14hr days of school and / or work......smoking weed every day, longboarding 4 times a week, trampolining every now and again and snowboarding in the winter...other than that, UE *is* what I'd best describe as being my excercise....its certainly what I'm longing to do on a bright summer day when I'm stuck inside at work.

I just maintain a healthy lifestyle. Eat healthy, workout regularly and just being active in general.

In the awesome movie "I am Legend", Will Smith has two treadmills. One for him and one for his dog. There is also a scene where he is lifting weights. Im not sure if the dog lifted weights as well.

Train for a triathalon and you just kinda happen to be in shape. But, doing pushups to better climb rope is not the way to train. Climb rope to better climb rope.

I stretch every day and before I go explore, climb every day at the indoor climbing gym where I work and run or swim four times a week.

Drink plenty of beer. A sixer usually gets you in shape for going drinking, I mean exploring.

I drink gasoline for breakfeast and beer for dinner!
Any problem can be licked with a case of beer and a few sticks of dynamite.

I've never had the problem of being sore after exploring somewhere.

I don't really exercise much but I think just my regular daily activities keep me in shape enough, haha.

at my way post 30 yrs old i get sore bits a week after a decent exploration'

but we explore hundreds of metres of 3-4ft madness in search of good drainage, where some of you explore km's of 10ft plus tunnels and whinge like little girlies

have a beer, eat some crack, scoff a burger and do the hard yards before whingeing like biatches

oz c/c do it hardcore, everyone else is just trying ;p

get in shape ? do it tough and then tell me about it
