I contemplated driving up to the top and taking the picture from there, but settled on keeping my feet on the ground.

Still pretty cool

And then, it asks the question: in a cold, uncaring, ruthless world of corporate slavery and assembly-line experiences . . . how is it possible to still live a life with strength, and passion, and with a soul that is still truly alive?

I'd like to know what's inside the crawl spaces of those ramps, but the only access seems to be from manholes on the ramp surface... not terribly accessible.

The new I-35E bridge in Minneapolis is built with that same sort of segmented construction. But it's even less accessible -- an article I read noted that they had integrated intrusion detection systems into the design.

Nice shot! I have one somewhere from when they were still building the Hwy 71 underpass. I decided to go for a walk, not up the ramp but down the ramp where they had not yet finished the highway under I35. Also, did you know there is a really sizable tunnel that starts about 3 miles south and follows I35 to a place not far from where you were standing?

Oh I am jealous. I never get to be around this area other than the dead of night on account of working the graveyard shift about a block away.

I did not know about the tunnel. I am not a girly girl, but bugs and booger drippings and huge poop-rocks make me feel ill. Definitely not for me.

Thanks! Yeah, I love shooting the building with the missing walls...the ambient sodium & mercury vapor from the stockyards is sweet!

yeah i go to school out here and live on campus. bush departed yesterday morning and the C-5 left later in the day. he comes and goes about once a month, each time bringing out a C-5, a few smaller cargo jets, and a fleet of helicopters.
