Hello,
I designed many of the power plants that you Ontario explorers have seen. In fact I was responsible for the development of the modern grid system in the province. I am sure many of you have explored the power plant in Toronto that bares my name, tragically it has been gutted as of late.
I've explored every power plant in the province, tail races and all, and most of the power plants in the Northeast.

I'm Chris, 36yo, married with 2 sons. I've been hooked on abandoned buildings ever since my dad took me through and old farmhouse when I was 5. I remember it vividly. I've always worked in construction and been through my share of old houses and commercial buildings. My preferred explorations are houses and ghost towns. There isn't too much industrial around here.
I spent time in CA, living in San Jose (Almaden Valley) and Chico, CA and later, relocated to Boise, ID to be near family.

I'm Jovian (its an ancient Roman emperor), I live in Edmonton AB and don't have much real world experience in UE. I have done some exploring in back rooms of currently used building but haven't had the stones to go into any abandoned buildings yet... and probably won't until it stops being minus 30 here. I won't be posting very much as I can't stand when idiots post silly questions like "Is my bag good for UE guys?" so my responses will be measured and hopefully add to the discussion and with time I will be a good member of the community.

Unfortunately work and school got in the way and until recently I haven't had much free time for exploring. I found the site searching for abandoned places around my area to do some more. Looks like a great site, and I hope to learn much here.

| | | | Hey, I've been lurking and randomly commenting for a while but I figured i should probably introduce myself. I'm from North Jersey so I've been UEing since I was kid. Only recently did i realize that there was a name and a community for it. North Jersey has a ton of opportunities for UE although a lot of it has been over run by Weird NJ kids. Some of those sites are still awesome but I'm always looking for undiscovered locations. Being from Sussex County I have easy access to the old town of Walpack which is a goldmine of abandoned houses and structures thanks to the failure of the Tocks Island Project. It's really rad to find so many people with similar interests. Looking forward to sharing some pics and getting to know you guys better.

| | | | Hi, the name is Rooty and I have been a Montreal-based explorer for almost 20 years. I do it because I feel like an urban archeologist when I visit inactive or abandoned sites; I get to see how others lived and worked 5, 50, 100 years ago or more. It's an exciting feeling that cannot be had any other way. I am also a photographer and that blends in with my exploring quite nicely, as there is no end to the potential subjects in UE and the photos on this site are a testament to that. I used to be a bike messenger so I know this city really well; I have been to a few locations in the area, Turcot, etc., but the one that REALLY inspired me to dive back into UE was Incinerator #3 (if you live in Montreal, you know exactly what I'm talking about)...I have some great photos that I can't wait to share here.
I'm here at UE to share my experiences, read about yours, and to hopefully link up with other local UE'ers to explore with. Cheers!
