hi guys.

my name is naomi marie. i live in toronto. exploring and adventuring has been my hobby for years, but i only joined the site last year.
i love abandoned houses and buildings, and take a certain liking to carrying around massive amounts of fruit bars (for Bergman, who just signed up here and always is with me while exploring) and polaroid cameras in these adventures. Hundreds of photographs and lots of weird memories have been very nice to this little girl over the years thanks to these adventures. I am very thankful for this interest of mine (and one that we all share !)
i havn't really made myself known on the forums or through meets because i am quite shy. but last night Bergman & i ran into Buffo, White Trash, and Electric Fire at the King Edward Ballroom (downtown toronto) were we go excessively. We were invited to go with them to the Canada Malting Company Plant where we were blown away !
anyways, long story short, i've now gained the confidence to start posting and possibly coming to more events (with polaroids and fruit bars in tow) if thats okay with all you good people !
Bergman has also signed up here, i think he will be making a post here soon too.

Hey, not so much as a new member since I've been a member for over 6 months, but i never had much to say. I came to this site while I was looking for the tunnels under my university, although i found someone who had been down and documented it fairly well, when I went looking for an entrance they were all locked. But now after looking and waiting almost a year I have found an open entrance, and I'm interested in sharing my pictures and stories.

Hi All,
This website is great. I'm a keen photographer and abandoned buildings and machinery really float my boat. The thing is, I've been cooped up indoors for far too long and I'm looking to get out infiltrating but at the moment I have no locations to cover... I've pretty much exhausted all my options. Would anyone be able to help me out? It would be greatly appreciated; I'm in need of some phototherapy!
Feel free to e-mail me and I'll try to help you out if I can.

Can't resist the urge to trespass.

Ghost towns, indian burial grounds, civil war cemetaries, decaying buildings from days bygone. farm houses, junk yards, abandoned buildings, oldskool factories, steel mills during the off season, forgotten ski resorts in the spring, anything facing extinction.

I'm not a squattor I just break in a lot,
and its not O.D.D. I just like to take shots.

I'm pretty new to the group, and to urban exploration in a photographic context. I've poked around some places I was not supposed to go, but not specifically abandoned or closed locations. I've always wanted to though ...

I have managed to poke around underneath the cenotaph during set-up (the sidewalk was open and no one around, what could I do?) climbed the fire escapes of many downtown buildings, one of my favorites being the burkholder fur building which is now under construction, and finally tracked down a handful of old cemetaries and broken down barns.

I'd love to meet some fellow oddballs through this group, and it'd be great to have someone to watch my back while poking around. I take calculated risks, follow the same kind of 'leave nothing but footprints' philosophy espoused by this group, and have some good skills at talking my way out of trouble when it arises.

... and a list of buildings I'd like to see the inside of.

Hello everyone, Gallow here. Been making images professionaly for the past 10+ years. Well over the last year I discovered that I needed new inspration in my work. Found Flickr which gave me a forum to post new work that would not go on my web site. My very good friend started poking around with urban exploration photography and well she got me interested in it. In the past I loved to tour old buildings etc... It was the history and the thought of what happened in the place that was and what drives me to explore. Now I do it with camera in hand.
Must say though with this fine cold damp Ontario weather lately I haven't been to eger to go freeze my ass off.

I can't wait to get out soon.

Cheers to all

new to the forum, not so new to the explorations.

as i get to know this space and place i'll up a few bits and pieces from northern mn, alaska, and the ice tunnels below the south pole.

pretty amazing how much more info related to u.e. is up on the web compared to ten years ago.

thanks and kudos to those of you dispensing advice and i'll look forward to meeting up to share sites and ideas for future adventures.

until then,

Greetings all!

I like to think of myself as a military historian, specializing in old military fortifications. I have explored Spanish American era forts in the Pacific Northwest, Los Angeles, San Diego, Mobile, Pensacola, and along the Potomac near Washington DC. I have also explored abandoned Nike missile sites in California, Indiana and Illinois. I have a few hundred photos of the remains of these sites that I would like to share with the site members, and will do so over time.

Regards, Terry

Brandy new to this site, and participating in any websites like this really but damn i feel at home... Born raised and reside on the north West side of Youngstown Ohio... if you know Youngstown you know we produced more steel than Cleveland, almost as much as pittsburgh and they shut down miles of steel mills and layed off 60,000? people from 77 to 84.. BOth of my Grandpa's got early retirement and my dad and like 4 of my uncles lost their jobs.. The companies picked up and left but guess what they left behind to rust? my first childhood memory was standin in my front window and watchin them dynamite four 100 foot smokestacks at the US Steel Ohio Works, it was a ten minit walk down the railroad tracks to there.. we grew up in those ruins, we had a skatepark in the 6 story US Steel office building.. started taking pictures and trying get into every mill i could when i realized it was now or never, they were tearing everything down, or shipping whole mills to indochina, selling my birthright at scrap prices.... i am the bastard son of the steel industry... anyway..usually stay around here but copper theft is at an all time high and theres more security than ever, so we roadtripped to the blast furnaces at Homestead PA this weekend and it sure was worth the trip.. a guy that had been there too and took some real tough pictures down US Steel's ol carrie furnaces sent me to this site, so here i am.. no pro but ive been doin it a while, its in my blood.. cant wait to see some new places..good to see all these other people that see the beauty in the rust

My name is Sara, I'm new the site, not so new to the explorations...A friend recommended this site to me when I moved to Indianapolis a couple weeks ago. I was driving around searching for places to head into and noticed there are a few. But when he mentioned this site, I looked through it and found that I can contribute as well as get new places here. When you've just been placed in a place unknown to you, it's nice to have a map. This site seems to do just that, as well as maybe gether people together to make the trips more fun (and safer)
Well, that's about it for me. So, hello everyone and nice to meet you!

Hey folks, after lurking for many many months, I have joined up. I am into searching around odd places and always have been from sewers as a kid to broken down factories. I have always getting into places I have no business being.

Great site!

Hi, my name is vinnie, and im from tupper lake, ny. ive been into a few places, but not many. the places ive been into have been a few old residences, a school, and a bottleing plant. the high school was the one i went to but i got to go into the old locker room in the basement which was locked off after a hazing incident 6 years before i got to it. it was mainly lockers and a storm drain. i also went into the attic/roof area and the boiler rooms. the bottleing plant was pretty cool. and the houses where all abandoned for some time. i havent done much UE as of late, but i plan on making a trip to adirondack with a few of my friends. i also have some prospective locations in a nieghboring town. so yea, hello.

p.s. i dont believe in vandalism or tagging. it just draws more attention to an area making it harder or impossible to return to later on.

Hello there, I am a new user to this forum. I have a had an interest in "urban exploration" for quite a while but never realized there was websites for it , or even an actual name. I am located in Moncton New Brunswick, and I already have in mind quite a few places I am gonna view and photograph.
