| | | Hello! I am new to the site, although I've been wandering around and exploring for a very long time. In fact, I've spent the last 3 years as a security guard for some pretty exciting sites, both abandoned and active, around my city. So I got to be somewhere cool AND get paid to be there! I realise, you guys probably aren't very keen on security guards, but they're fairly easy to circumvent if you know what to do with them. Yep. I hope to meet some people from the city and wander around together. I might start taking pictures too.

| | | Wow, there are allot of people here, and allot of new people. I'm new to the site but i have been exploring for a little while now. I started exploring when i got a job working for a real estate agent, mainly because i was going all over the place and got allot of time on the road and started finding these places. Not only finding but able to legally explore the ones for sale. So naturally i used my job as a key, literally because of ability to get the keys from the sellers. Now i found this place and its great. I can't wait to start posting my own locations i have found that no one else seems to have. I am working on a website to get my photos up. Since I'm new I'm also looking for some people to explore with in my area, I don't mind traveling all around but i want to be part of a group so i can stop exploring by myself or with people that are not as into it. Anyone in the DC / Baltimore area looking for another explorer to go with them? Send me a message here or my e-mail is [email protected] . Or anyone at all, I'm really looking to make some new friends. DarkSeaker

| | | Hi I am so happy to have finally found a name for what I have been doing off and on all my life anyways. I am in San Antonio, Tx, only been here since august this last year with husband. I am always looking for old and falling apart abandoned houses to photograph, Im short so usually has to be somewhere I can get to with my zoom on my digital camera, not able to climb fences etc. I dont have many friends here yet and am always looking for someone to go exploring with. I recently got some really good pictures of the Longhorn Quarry, have seen pics of it in older years before they put the fence up not a whole lot has changed. Anywho, here I am. Feel free to shorten my name however to make it easier I answer to just about any variation of it.

| | | I'm not exactly new but I've never really introduced myself outside of the Canada : Other forum. I'm originally from one of those "Winter Population: 5 Summer Population: 800" coastal villages in the South Shore of Nova Scotia (Canada), now living about 1.5 hours away in Halifax, NS. Been exploring my whole life but not really under the veil of UE until about three years ago. Recently, I've been able to lure some friends into the hobby so I've got a couple capable crew members coming with me. I originally came to UER to display photos I took of an abandoned satellite earth station (http://www.uer.ca/...ow.asp?locid=25628). After a brief time away from the hobby, I've been back and active. Most recently, I've been extremely interested in the history of my city. Halifax served as the chief defender of British North America for hundreds of years. To this day, many of the fortresses built to protect us from the French and later Americans, are still standing, many are wide open to the public to explore. Check out my thread on the Halifax Defence Complex if you're interested. http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=42392 Oddly enough, we've got all of these fortresses to protect us, but we've never actually faced an attack. The main reason: What aggressor would dare sail into Halifax Harbour? Anyway, lots of history here and I intend to take in and document as much as humanly possible. BTW, I've created an Atlantic Canada Facebook Group in an attempt to spawn some interest locally. Always interested in taking on some national and international members. http://www.faceboo...php?gid=2229030737 And I'm more than willing to provide some of my intel to local explorers looking to get started. | | | Hi, I'm Pete, currently a university student from southwest England, studying in Wales. Whilst I'm not actually an explorer myself, I've always been fascinated by ancient buildings, and in recent years have been helping with the attempt to raise enough money to start restoring an old manor house close to where I live, and exploring said place. I first became aware of the concept of UE through a random site that came up when I was searching for the newly set up website for the place I'm involved with, and have been hooked on UE websites since. At some point, I'd love to do some actual exploring, but for the moment, the rapidly-decaying corridors of "my" building will have to suffice.
Regards, Pete. (Not an urbexer, but I do love old buildings, and am involved with a restoration project.) |

| | | This is my first time creating an acct and contributing, so though I've been around a while, you might as well call me new. I live in SoCal, where rampant insanity (concerning property) is slowly destroying all old structures. I'm working on a plan to salvage (hopefully) a 100-year-old building in my city, but its a long shot right now. Anyway, urbex. Always been fascinated with old things, since they have more character. And anything off-limits is automatically intriguing, no? RAGE
