And as an addendum, why was the UEDB submission I made when I had the permission taken off? That seems to be the case, unless there was a general purging of material using some revised criteria on content. Admittedly, I may well have missed something, given my busy-ness. Enquiring minds, & all that.

You mean the 'Flamborough west ruin' entry?

It's still there.

By the way, the plural of forum is fora, not forums.

fo·rum P Pronunciation Key (fôrm, fr-)
n. pl. fo·rums, also fo·ra (fôr, fr)
1. a.The public square or marketplace of an ancient Roman city that was the assembly place for judicial activity and public business.
b.A public meeting place for open discussion.
c.A medium of open discussion or voicing of ideas, such as a newspaper or a radio or television program.
2. A public meeting or presentation involving a discussion usually among experts and often including audience participation.
3. A court of law; a tribunal.

[Middle English, from Latin. See dhwer- in Indo-European Roots.]

And, right now, you most likely can't see the location simply because you are level 2 at this time... Av's working on that.

Curious - two entries are visible to me for Hamilton, neither of which are this location (Thistle Club and, er, something else). I don't think I would have posted it anywhere other than Canada-Ontario-Hamilton - where is it showing up? Or is it an issue at the DB and permissions end? Enquiring minds, &c.

Demolished locations are visible... as are locations set to be viewed by the general public (under level 3). These are locations that are usually active... ones you can pretty much go into legally.

Yes, it was. I made a mistake by not entering a reason why you had been denied. I think you were the first or second person I felt had to be denied level 3 access after this new system had been introduced.

Yes, I am (gasp!) human, and make mistakes. Nobody's perfect, and I apologize.

I'm hoping that clears this up.

I've got no problems with you Crossfire, i just wanted to know why. One of the other mods told me, but i wanted to hear it from you. Thanks.

Or...here's an idea - setup your own website, post your pictures and information there - then post links to it in the website updates section... That way you aren't duplicating anything and nobody is controlling how/who your information is viewed.

So....the Flamborough one that I posted is set to level 3 or higher?

All locations in the DB default as that unless specified as demolished or public-access. Av is working on a thing so non-level 3's can see their locations.

"formums", like "stadiums", "trilliums", and so on, are colloquiallisms, like "ain't", "youse guys", "unpossible" and "embiggen". Note that the origin is Latin, so when using the Roman language, do as the Romans do...8*)

Ah, semantics. Looks like you're using an American dictionary, anyhow: I tend to use English.

Don't complain about *semantics* when you were the one that made a point of pointing out the "mistake" in the first place.

Wow, amazing how people can get upset over not getting what they think is deserved. I would love to ask for level 3, but I figure I will get it when it is deemed okay by those who do the deeming. I have my website, I go out and explore, I try to contribute here, I try to be a good person. Heck, anyone in Toronto, check The Town Crier (crappy little paper) and see that I write a monthly feature on old and interesting buildings, so I have the history/architecture thing down. Heck, I am even working on a UE article for a new men's mag launching out of NYC. If that is enough for level 3, then so be it. If not, well, I'll just keep doing what I do, for the fun of doing it. I am hoping to get to the next meet, mainly to meet some of you and to go out for some fun. If that gets me level 3, then so be it. If not, oh well, I meet some cool folks and have fun exploring. I think people are putting too much emphasis on the level system - get out there and have some fun - isn't that the point?

I would love to be able to add some locations to the uedb but i suppose i can just poste them all in the forums. I can see why someone could be frustrated by not being able to contribute somthing to certain sections but i really dont think its that big of a deal. And as for meeting people I agree its a big sighn of comitment and trust to meet a total stranger you only know from the web ill be honest i have done it before but i know its proably not the best idea. Although last time it worked out pretty well. I dont know about every body else but my area doesnt seem to have alot of exploarers

A good number of explorers would discover there were more explorers in their area than they thought, if they filled in the location on their profiles here...
