Right, who's been at my porno ? It seems some over-zelous moderator type has 'destroyed' some of my photos at a location in scotland:

Now here are my questions in order:
1. Why ?
2. Am I in breach of some 'anti-porn' rule here that I've missed ?
3. Why didn't I get a mail or PM asking me to edit or remove these photos ?
4. Why did the mod in question do such a CRAP job of editing these ?
5. Who do you think would really be offended by 3.5DPI low res soft porn ?
6. Why was a picture of two girls kissing blanked yet in full view a girl getting it in the bot is visible ??
The whole thing strikes me as rather strange and slightly over-zealous in terms of moderation ?!!
Sure I can understand you would do this if I was posting up graphic un-adulterated pictures of filthy smut (!) but the pictures in question wouldn't offend my grand-ma and formed an important part of my location narrative!
A wee PM asking me to blank or remove these picture would probably be a lot better than taking the time to (do a crap job) of censoring them ??

2) I notice that it is mentioned in those links (and alluded to in your text) that content as well as comments are being edited; this is not the first time I've heard strong complains about the LDB mods. In Chat I've even been asked more than once by a contributor how they could remove all of their photos and locations from the DB because the users were entirely fed up and insulted that the mods were frequently removing content (including comments, apparently) without even telling the person that they did it, let alone warning them, asking them about it, or even telling them why. I PMed one of the DB mods about this (Drie, because I have seen THD leave comments about things of questionable value and work things nicely out using the "comments" of the images and therefore I assume it isn't her) and included excerpts from one of the chats that had just happened where a user was asking how to remove his images and locations, and was just ignored (a simple reply with "Thanks, but go screw yourself." or something similar would've been better than nothing).

While I understand that hardcore nudity isn't allowed here (And I wouldn't want to post anything like that if I found it at a site ANYWAYS..) the originals were pretty damn tame... More amusing than sexy.
Anyways, that's not the thing that's irking me so much anyways. It's the fact that this whole thing has been handled atrociously by a mod just barging in and editing a photo without even so much as a PM to myself.
How would you feel if someone did that with a POST on the FORUM ??? Put words into / took words out of your mouth ?
Again, I'll re-iterate: if this picture needed editing, no probs. If it needed deleting or removing... No probs. BUT... Ask me! Tell me first!! ?? Only manners really.

While this is a sad indictment on UER it's not the problem. I have no issue taking them down if even so much as one person ran from their PC / MAC crying at the hellish pain I inflicted on them for seeing a bare arse.
What I do have a problem with is not being told about it / asked to fix it myself first.

It is indeed copyright infringement and I am not talking about just the US. It is part of a treaty that Canada and Scotland signed also. Also goes into intellectual rights. Breaches of serious international laws by the moderators of UER? Hmmm...
Wonder why no mods have responded to this yet...

As for copyrights, simple modification of a file does not violate copyright. If we were representing these as our photos rather than turbo's photos, that would be a violation of copyright.

OK... That answer didn't address my question in whole OR in part. Now I'll ask my question again and try and be more clear so you can understand:
WHY WAS I NOT INFORMED - EVEN AFTER THE FACT ?
Seems a careless oversight given that this is a 'bann-able' offence.
Editing my photo catches the copyright legislative marker under 'reverse engineering without owners consent'. Saving and re-hosting this (regardless of accepting credit or not) is also a breach as you cannot host my work (modified or not) without MY permission, which you did not seek.
Not that I give a rats ass about any of that as my gripe is about basic manners and not obscure copyright law.

PS: There are several locations that have equal or worse 'pornography' than the pictures I posted.; And I note with interest they have not been edited in any way.
PPS: Why in the FvCK whenever I talk to you do you always THREATEN TO BAN ME?!?

If the moderators informed every single person every time they perform their duties, there'd be thousands of messages and thousands more complaints. Just trust in the fact that the moderators are doing their work for the good of this website and to uphold the rules.

I did NOT give you permission to host my edited work or any portion of it, when you or another edits said picture it's no longer my work - it's PART of my work and the part left is stolen. Firstly, I would never categorise the photos in question as 'porn'. A far away, obscured picture of an open softporn book does not a porno make in my view. In your view, this seems to classify it as grade A smutt, so I'll accept that and acknowledge that perhaps the rules were broken.
To suggest I deliberately ignored or set out to break said rules from the outset is in fact incorrect and I resent the insinuation greatly. I would never intend to harm or place UER in any legal hot water.
If the censored photos are causing you this much stress, I invite you to please remove them.

If you did that you would find a rather large 'cease and desist' notice on your mat...
I'm not a lawyer - others can answer for me on the ethics / legality of what you are setting out with greater authority than I. I can only take the advice of the Picture Desk of a large national newspaper for which I work...
But please note that pictures of People (Which they were - namely ME) fall under the UK Data Protection Act (A treaty the US and Canada are signed to uphold also) and as such NO you can't edit it and re-host it without permission*.

Avatar, You said that you could have banned him because of the content of the pictures. That in it's self is as good as a threat. I like this website, and the people who hang out here. That is one of the reasons i joined. I would hate to see it fall apart over BS.
