It's got a stubby little shifter on the dash with a slapstick type of action, fun little people mover. Sorry for the derail. Have a great Christmas all of you!!

Funny story, the car the used for Joe Dirt was actually a fully restored Daytona in plum crazy purple. They bought the car and mocked it up painting the body panels mismatched and adding fake rust. The car was auctioned off years back, and it was absolutely mint and under the hood. http://www.califor..._dirt_daytona.html

blasphemy! They could have very easily bought a 318 charger and added a nose/spoiler and no one would have known, even mopar guys.

That's true, I hadn't even thought of it. They must have had a hell of a budget to blow!

It was not a real Daytona or even a 69, ON the mopar forums it is said to be a '70 cloned into a 69 daytona. Plum Crazy was a '70 color.

My Dad showed me a split window corvette today, thats been sitting for 20+ years on someones property. I wanted to take a picture, but it looks like a crazy redneck lives there. Such a shame.

Learn something new every day! It's still a very clean survivor from the pics on the website I linked. You'd think they'd have bought a genuine rust bucket if that was the look they were going for.

Was this Honda imported from Deutschland (D)? ...almost looks like a rodent trap on the left – but that would be for one big rodent (R.O.U.S.)!!

That's neat. I like how the leaf springs come out to the rear of the body.

according to the vin in that link. the car is just a 69 charger with a factory equipped 318 with a 2 barrel stock. guess you cant read everything you read online. either they lied, and posted the wrong vin, or the history is just BS.

Hey 'Neko... one of my friends was sitting beside me as I was perusing the forum here. I explained that you live in the land of the rising sun and he was wondering how much it would be to snag a Japanese license plate? He wants it for his (hardy har har) Eclipse.

Was this Honda imported from Deutschland (D)? | I wondered the same. It was RHD, so I assumed the 'D' was from a holiday, or maybe the owner was German. Stranger things have been seen in Japan. I saw a RRR sticker in Hokkaido a few years ago.
...almost looks like a rodent trap on the left – but that would be for one big rodent (R.O.U.S.)!! | That is the local rubbish drop spot. The cage is to keep tanuki off, and they are indeed big critters.
he was wondering how much it would be to snag a Japanese license plate? | Well, if I could get one, he could have it for postage. As they are controlled, and I would never take one off even an abandoned car, the wait might be a while. There is however a guy in the Snakes that makes Japanese 'style' license plates often used by Japanese car owners in the US. Unless of course he knows these look a bit wonky and he wants an original... Then he's back to waiting. Neko.

It all depended on who cheated better, and didn't get caught. On a side note I was just issued a 2011 Dodge Caravan for Vanpooling. Can somebody please tell me why this thing is so much faster than the 2007 Caravan I just turned in? V6 6spd trans, This thing absolutely hauls balls, and its roomier.

They have the new Pentastar engine, 3.6L, 283 HP.

And you have to remove the intake boot to change the oil filter. Thanks Chrysler. That's convenient.

Par for the course now unfortunately. Ive seen oil filters that you cannot get a wrench on. Who the hell designed that one?

the Ecotec... ordinarily on the 2.2L, 2.4L and even the 1.4L Turbo and 1.8L, the oil filter is easily accessed as it's a cartridge that goes inside the engine... but not the 2.0L Supercharged model... You have to be a contortionist to get the filter in and out due to where the supercharger is mounted.
see where the intake tube meets the supercharger body, under that is where the oil filter housing is located. that's why my friendly Chevrolet dealer does the oil changes.

The 3.6 liter timing chain swallowing lump in the Acadia/Enclave crossover has the oil filter directly behind the exhaust manifold. You have to loosen it from up top, while burning the shit out of your hand, and then it drains itself into the rad support... and you have to remove it from underneath. Fucking STUPID design. I seem to remember some Ford stuff having ridiculously stupid oil filter locations, too. V6 gasoline VW Touaregs and '98-'05 VW Passat 1.8Ts have the filter in a retarded spot as well.

The 3100 V6 in my 96 Beretta is so damn easy to get to. I remember the 2.2L MPFI/3speed auto combo in my 96 Cavalier was a douche to get to the oil filter due to how the transaxle was designed and mounted.

Remember the 2.5 liter Iron Duke with that stupid cartridge filter stuck in the oil pan? Messy, messy, messy.
