The old Atlantic and Western #12. I was driving around out in the country and saw this being proudly displayed on the depot lawn in picturesque Sanford, NC. I had to pull in and get a few shots.

Good ol' Wallace Ave pedestrian bridge. I've shot quite a few GO's (and a few VIA's) there. Always fun when one of GO's wads goes screaming underneath you.

Wouldn't have your gear out in plain view if you're hanging around that bridge though...

Oh, and that Toronto Hydro building once had a siding running into it off the old Bruce Service track (now the West Toronto Railpath).

Why's that? I thought it was a fairly decent area... (The GF lives about a quarter mile north of there)

It seemed pretty good whenever I dropped by too, but one can never be too careful.

Another good spot to shoot in that area is around the Osler crossing, and the Junction Rd crossing.

Keep it fuzzy.

Snapped this quick pic with my cellphone while checking out the CSX yard a while ago in Miami, FL. Not a great photo, but some interesting info:

I saw this short block of dilapidated boxcars off to the side of the yard by themselves, and didn't know if they were still in use, or being fixed/junked. They looked abandoned. I searched for car # DMM 811002 on RR Picture Archives, and came up with a picture of it in pretty much the same condition 2 years ago in Massachusetts: http://www.rrpictu...ure.aspx?id=391775 It belongs to Dansville and Mount Morris railroad, which is a shortline in New York. I called the phone number for CSX's automated car tracing service, and it told me that this old car was bad-ordered yesterday at 1:40 PM.

Waiting for the warm train by IIVQ, on Flickr

In The Netherlands, on some stations, they have "heat pillars" to keep people on the platform warm during the winter. They're powered by renewable energy and switched off when temp is above 12C.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too!
