Never enter a drain from the ocean unless you have an exit further up, or know with extreme accuracy the tide is going way out. And there are those tricky half tides that double back without doing a full retreat. Heard a story about a couple of kids who tied their boat at the mouth of a drain, went way up inside, the tide came in, the boat was found. Parents contacted, assumed they drowned, but; a good ending, they popped up somewhere along the way. I bet they were grounded for like, until puberty. CT; Sounds like you might be from Vic, care to disclose your hometown, or your gender for that matter? No need to be shy around here. Oh, and about my previous pics. Kept a low profile on the location because they said come back next week, and we'll let you in when the electrical guys are here. All weekend I obsessed about having finally found the portal to the underworld. I visualized obese rats sucking the sweat from my socks, ripping tendons in their frenzy, angry ghosts, long dark spaces, block after block with no light, my batteries dying. And the construction workers accidentally? locking me in. Then forcing my way out from some manhole cover in the middle of the street. That iron biscuit, heavy as a 440 cubic inch engine, I finally erupt from the depths. Well, it was totally not like that; interesting, but less dramatic, a lot less unfortunately. I should have been at the Janion. Anyway, how was your day? Pic 3 is the way in. Pic 4 shows how a hole in the sidewalk under the front of the next building was filled in. Amazing how they just kept pouring, didn't even build a retaining wall.

| | | Posted by A. Lien Houston, we have a problem, Michelle STILL has some issues...
| She's an old woman in poor health. Her 'issues' if any, are likely centered around her old age, failing health, and a certain amount of pain she has endured over the years since her book was published. I sincerely wish her well. I still hold out a candle of hope that she may want to speak with me about her experiences, her book and why she has remained so reclusive these last couple of decades. Her book will be around for a long time, and will no doubt continue to fuel speculation about Victoria's Satanic Underground. As for the crypt. Take a close look, and re-read the relevant passages in Michelle's book. Plot the entrance of this crypt against underground drain routes, and you may discover some interesting things. Can you say 'connect the dots?'

| | | I've spent the better part of the last four years gathering stories from various sources in and around Victoria concerning secret tunnels, and I've pretty much heard them all. I've encountered all manner of weirdness and misery in this, one of Canada's wealthiest cities. I've spoken with people who have called Victoria home their entire lives, people who have lived variously through institutions, agencies, and the open spaces within the public sphere. I've spoken with people who arrived here from somewhere else. I've spoken with people passing through town on their way to another place. The overwhelming majority of them possess specific knowledge of a secret city under the streets. I've found several common threads whose similarities can more or less be traced back to various historical events, an example of which might include the tunnel blasted through bedrock in Esquimalt. Throughout my time exploring these stories, and the evidence that supports them, I thought I had heard it all. Until I spoke with X and Y last night.
