That's why we carry a bazooka, there will be no fence we have to worry about.

| | | Guess it all depends where you like to play as an adult. High security military installations sometimes had spring loaded barbed wire top sections that were about 1 yard high. It's not just a mission, it's an adventure.
Your security measures were inadequate. How unfortunate for you. |

Adventure, definitely. I spent a few days checking out an old abandoned WWII Military bunker in Alaska with some friends on vacation once, it was on the coast of some fjiord near Seward. Anyways, we had a good time, but we did see a few remnants of military defenses, a pillbox here and there, extra defenses in addition to the heavy iron bomb-doors that hung askew at the mouth. There was even what looked like some ancient golf cart thing that they probably used to get around with back in the day, but us, we had to climb over rubble and old concrete and steel.
Everything happens for a reason. It's just up to you to figure out that reason. So go ahead. Search for the reason. Now you know it's there. |

| | | Any recommendations on dealing with razor wire? I know its the scary uncle of barbed wire, but some of the best sites around me are cordoned off by this stuff. Anything short of requiring B&E tools?

Don't. Cross at the gates if you can, wear leather gloves. Don't get hung up or fall into it

| | | Barb/razor wire. There are only 4 options. Go over, under, through(cut) or around. This will work for everyone in every situation. The choice is yours.
The question is not when are we gonna stop, It's who's gonna stop us? |

Breach it. Seriously though, razor wire sucks. Avoid is the best option.

Use a army blanket on it. As I said before, it works with the German Army blanket, I don't know how thick the US one is, but it should work as well. If you want to cut it, this one here works well:

Rush Hour? In West Texas? Best time is about 5 to 7 pm when nobody cares.

You could be seen by somebody going in. Exploring without predawning is very risky and your chances of somebody being around is 97% greater.

The riskiest locations I went into at 3-6 AM and left at dark. If they are dark inside all the time anyway 11PM or later and out before dawn. If someone sees you and where you went, trouble is one phone call away. Darkness makes this much less likely. Treat it like the mission it is; don't be a sightseer and get tagged. Know and minimize the risks, know the site inside out, and who might be there. Once inside, spot them before they become aware of you and evade. Well, its actually one phone call and one radio call. So that would be 2 calls away.
