Not exactly a "worst", but I couldn't decide whether this is better fitted for here or hilariously pathetic security measures.
Recently, a friend and I went draining, trying to finish up a place I discovered back in October. Stopping for some obligatory Mighty Taco on the way, my friend happened to notice that the car parked next to his had a licence plate "P0 L1 C3", being an otherwise ordinary, middle-aged Buick. We remarked that it was the lamest "undercover" impostor we had ever seen, being such a pitiful old car with a semi-1337 plate. A few minutes later, as we're putting on our waders and getting ready to go in the drain, P0 L1 C3 shows up again, and out comes a fully uniformed officer of the law, and a high ranking one at that from the stripes on his shoulders. He asks what we're doing, and I tell him I'm an engineering student at Rochester, and that we're walking the creek studying corrosive and erosive effects on bridge columns. He suggests that the creek itself is a muddy mess, but acknowledges that since we have waders, we probably know that, and that if we don't mind getting wet we're also right by a tunnel, even though it isn't the creek I said I was trying to study (not my city, I don't know every last trickle of water's proper name). Then he shows us the drain entrance, tells us a bit about its history, and leaves us to go in (after first making sure we have enough light sources to find our way back out), recommending that afterward we try the one under the expressway, there's much bigger bridges and tunnels there...

We had taken a few separate days to explore a group of about 3 or 4 abandoned factories a good 30-minute or so drive from my house. Armed with all our usual equipment, we walked down the road past the abandoned steel mill ((haven't been in yet, sigh)) and through the NO TRESPASSING gates. Across the modest creek, and into the group of factories.
The one in question was across a field probably half a mile from the active road we parked well-away from, so we kept our voices rather low and began our trek. Halfway to the factory our 'leader' stops, and signals us to drop to the ground. We do, pausing and listening intently to what's around us. Across the field, we see the beams of high-powered flashlights, and a floodlight that's been placed on top of one of three cop cars.
Scared shitless, we sit still, hunkered in the frozen mud ((it was about Feb)) for about twenty minutes before we decide 'They can't really see us this far back in the field, let's turn around and leave.' So we crawl back across the field behind the next closest building, and catch our breath.
We kept watch across the field peeking around the corner of the building, and shortly after that they actually left. Not wanting this to be a waste of a drive out here, I suggested exploring a factory that was way far-out from the road, and right on the edge of Lake Michigan. We were about a hundred yards from it and had explored it during the day before, but never at night. It was worth the extra exploration in my book.
So we trudge back to this factory, and take a stop in the abandoned weigh station that's about 20 feet from it. The floor here is absolutely covered in broken glass and all the windows are broken, so it makes a LOT of noise when we walk through it. We're all wandering through here when we pause again. 'Leader' takes a look out the door and holee shit there are people walking down the road towards the weigh station, with flashlights. As quickly and quietly as we can we exit the building in the direction of the lake, sprinting down the drive and diving over a thick slab of concrete that serves as a lookout over the lake, resting neatly atop a very, very steep cliff to the water's edge.
Here we are, five of us, clinging to the edge of this block and looking up and over it every five minutes or so to see if we were still in danger. The flashlights got alarmingly close, perhaps 20 yards or so, but seemed to lose interest and leave 15 minutes later.
Needless to say, we high-tailed it out of there as soon as we knew there was no one else around.
Returning to the 'leader's' car we found a sticker from the local police requesting him to contact them at his earliest convenience.
That earliest convenience never came.... :B

Instead of creating a new thread, I'm gonna ask here.
What were the consequences? Even if it's only for trespassing, a criminal record could cost me a lot...
I went through previous topics in this forum. As long as you're out of the building, they can only write your name down without opening a record for it unless you do something stupid later. But for the ones who were caught inside, without direct consequences, do you know what happened after that?
If some people from Montreal, Quebec could answer that one, it would be great (since it's probably a different deal depending on where you live)!
PS : No "If you're scared to get caught don't do it" ... I've heard that one before  I only want to have a better idea of the possible consequences!
Oh I forgot : PS for bfinan0 : Nice! Reaaaally nice!
