right now, about one third of the brickworks has been torn down. the main building that most of peoples photos are taken in is still up, but the small derelict little open corridor has been gone for a long time now. its a shame, i really miss it.

Then maybe you should go back to Brickworks one last time before it's too late.

Not sure if I want to see it...maybe I want to keep it in my mind like it was. Though maybe I want to go pay some last respects. Perhaps we go soon...?

I believe that idea was shelved.

Regarding the kiln warehouse
"Evergreen will design interpretive signage and offer guided tours leading visitors back in time to explore the rich industrial heritage of the site. Outward Bound Canada will occupy the north end of the building with a ropes course weaving through the roof trusses and a climbing tower; the south end of the building will contain a gallery of large-scale contemporary art installations. The unique combination of heritage, activity and art make it a fabulous venue for events."

You know, that's actually kind of cool. It'd be nice to see the place just stay vacant and explorable forever, but at least they're doing SOMETHING with it... and keeping some of the original character.

I was just there a couple of weeks ago, and it was being heavily patrolled by security. They allowed us to walk the periphery and take photos, but there was definitely no getting in. Parts were already semi-demolished (not sure how recently).

Was there about a week ago.
Sad site to see indeed.
We were there to go shoot in the fields and also to see the amount of construction that had been done.

We were greeted by 2 park staff when they noticed our tripods/cameras.

Basically the security is there now because, due to it being a construction site theres more legal liability if someone were to get hurt, etc.
They even have guard dogs now - a bit much but meh.

I'm gonna miss that place so many more shoots I wanted to do within the main building.

P.s. if you were lucky enough to stumble upon the man made pond + canoe, they said they kept the canoe lol

All the security I saw this weekend was a lonely guard who may have lost all of his marbles. He was building a pile of bricks, one brick at a time. When I was leaving, he was un-building that pile. He needs some action, so get out there!

Still quite a bit to see, although extensive demo.

Cybo and I were there on friday night. It was like 3am and we were bored so we decided to go have a conversation with the guard. Intelleguard is there now. Guy was actually pretty nice.

He said brickworks was creepy. I said it wasn't. he dared me to go in. I told him that i was too lazy cause I had been a million times before and we had just gotten back from beth steel in buffalo. He looked at me funny.
