It's not like there hasn't been a foto taken of EVERY INCH of the place.

I still think that one you took of that door was the best I've seen of it.

Gone for good? Don Valley was never good.

For someone that tends to encourage urban exploration as a life-changing activity, it seems a bit elitist for you to be knocking what was once a truly interesting and exciting closed-down factory, particularly considering you don't live here and, as far as I know, never have. I know, it's your right as an elite explorer to pass it off as a joke, but for locals that don't have the immediate option of flying to Mongolia for a week-long bicycle tour, I'd think you of all people would be a bit more encouraging to people looking to break out of the internet and into real-world exploration in whatever form is available to them.

Did someone say something about a guard? At the brickworks, really?

The brickwork is being dismantled but there is no guard there or wasn't when I was there last weekend. Its boarded up pretty good but there is obviously an easy way in but you will be in plain sight for sure!

Air 33 and Mortimer are right. If you haven't seen it you should get your ass out there before it's gone. It's no Prypiat but it is a Toronto UE standard.

veiled in my sarcasm was the note that two walls are now missing. I can't believe people are still talking about looking for holes. You can even walk down from Castle frank station or st.clair east.

Maybe, but the tree is still the most enjoyable way to get in. It's sort of like using the window to get in and out of a car instead of just opening the door.

if you walk from st.clair east, its longer but you get to walk past 3 drains you could take a peek at!

Maybe just get more specific directions next time, if you'd gone the right way there'd be no highways to cross and no train tracks to cross. If you got that lost between Castle Frank and the Brickworks, I'd hate to see where you'd end up walking from St. Clair.

There was a time when one had to LOOK for holes? I sorta just walked up to it and opened my eyes (yeah I walk with my eyes closed) and was like HOLES!

evergreen has posted these handy instructions on how to get to their abandonment from both the bloor and yonge lines, here: http://www.evergre...ethinkspace/?p=124

i havent tried this myself, i live close, but they look reasonably sane!

edit: on the weekend during market season, i think they run a shuttle from one of the stations as well.

Well I was literal just there and they have active security now. They also put a new fence around the whole place. The security likes to follow you too so we took him on a nice long walk. Let's see what other toronto places have security. Well my blackberry is gonna die. Have fun

Yeah, we went on the weekend and were greeted by two uniformed dudes at the parking area. They told us how to wander around the outside, and to stay the hell out of the fenced in area.
