You're right about the car parked there, but I've actually seen it gone too, so I guess it can be hit or miss.

Truthfully I called it by it's location because I don't know what the hell it used to be. There were signs for various things, and since people on here referred to it by that, I followed suit.

I'll edit my post, I guess. Although there are links to information about it with the address, so really, I guess we shouldn't post any information about the place either.

And as far as discussing entrances, I don't think that saying something is easy to get into is giving away all that much information. I mean really, my definition of easy could be scaling a fence with barbed wire and picking a lock and then climbing down a well and up through the floor. Or it could mean walking in the front door. I guess I'll edit that too.

Actually I can't edit my first post (i fixed the rest though)... it tells me I can only edit it within 24 hrs or something. So, if someone else wants to edit it, and has such power, go for it.

Good call re-naming it on the database, the ghetto factory was a pretty awful way to reference it. Hooray!

too bad it has such a low rating though. and such an awful default pic. that place is amazing and the internets is treating it wrong!

i was actually going to create a new location for it, oh well.

Can't anyone change the default pic? It'd be rude to do, but as more are added, it makes sense to use different pictures.

Also, can more people post on the WI board instead of here? It seems like it'd make more sense and perhaps then the general public wouldn't be such a huge concern.

Big ups to whoever changed the name on the tannery. "Ghetto Factory" actually honked me off a bit as I live pretty close to it. And yeah, it is the 'hood, but we gotta show some respect for the place's history.

And big ups to whoever added the fire photos link that I found. And further big ups to me for finding them. Good job, MwackSwift. Why thank you, MwackySwift.

Anyway, this whole thread got started back in the day when I wasn't yet on the Wisconsin board. Now that I am, I'd be more than happy to move the whole shebang-a-bang to said board so that we can talk more freely amongst ourselves. I hate to see our hard work caught up in "you shouldn'ta said that!!!!11!"

So let me know what you think on the matter - and if you're not on the board I believe Slim Jim is the adder-onner.

And furthermore, people have been asking me when we're gonna meet up again. Personally, I shan't be available until after Labor Day weekend. But I'm not the only one who can organize meetups! So do what ya do, and even though I'll cry a little inside when I'm not invited/able to come, keep Milwaukee UE alive! and I'll try to drum up a little something in early September.

Love always,
MwackySwift

Okay i'm going to stop posting in this thread. To the WI board we go?

I can get behind the more beer more beer part - is Pabst OK, or are we the kind of folks who can't get with Pabst cans? I like that a 30pk costs 11 bucks.

I can bring a couple flashlights - and obviously you have to wear some clothes that you don't mind fuggin' up a little bit. That said, if you see me show up in a button up shit, a tie and some slacks, know that I mean business, and am not afraid to fack up my clothes.

Carb has some great suggestions...now we just need more beer.

Well, minus little business trip to Des Moines Sept 12-15, I'll be around the Mil for quite some time now! So let's do some shit. This thread is kind of in limbo between here and the Wisconsin board, so just holler at everyone here or there. I'm down for some PBR-fueled shit-shooting and UEing.

Cheap beer is never good unless it's cold AND free.

I drink gasoline for breakfeast and beer for dinner!

New here, but not to exploring. I'm game for any meetup/exploration.

Anyone know if the tunnels by the old brewery in Glendale (on the Milwaukee/Glendale border on Pt. Washington Rd) still exist? The old Schlitz brewery (now an industrial park), there were tunnels leading all over the place including to the building next to it and the Hilton.

There's also a number of tunnels going underneath the freeway back and forth from Nicolet High School to Cardinal Stritch and the surrounding area.

The new sprecher brewery you mean in glendale? Which would be pretty flat if i remember. And since its still operational. And the nicolet highschool tunnnel to there soccer fields is not to exciting, more or less to keep the sports teams safe. That would be the only tunnel going back and forth under the highway. And I work at the hilton downtown (I could always talk to the enginering guys who fix the place for "secrets"). And i'm pretty damn sure, that schlitz doesn't connect in anyway. If I'm correct with what i'm thinking isn't schlitz about 7 blocks away from the hilton? That be some LONG tunnels!! If you want tunnels go to pabst, you need a damn map to find your way around that place!!
