Ok friends, how's about late afternoon on say Friday the 28th or Saturday the 29th? Once I get a few 'yay's, I'll post it on events, so please respond.

Also, where's somewhere good to meet? A diner like Ma Fisher's, somewhere public and central like the Amtrak station, or where?

Let me know, lets get this shit started!

Uhhhh hey. I'm a newbie to the forums (if you can't tell this is my first post). Just wondering if it would be alright if I got in on this meeting thing Saturday. I actually just got back from some UE, or at least attempted. I was going up to that asylum in Wauwatosa and got stopped by a cop and told to turn around on the drive in. I've been looking for some forums or a website to find some more places to explore for a while now, looks like I found the right place.

My 'hit-list' is pretty small right now, but so far I've been to the abandoned foundry/mill near water street across from the Allen Bradley building, the now half torn down Spring Mall movie theatre in Greenfield, and an old community center thats now gone near the MSOE campus right by Juneau Ave. (it was right across from the Pfister building).

Hit me up on AIM sometime so I can get to know some of you. Maybe we can go on an expedition or something

The Grebe Foundry (across the street from A / is pretty much taken down, save for one building (why??) - somebody explored it earlier this year - I was too busy moving and trying to get my shit in shape to try to get in, but there were 100,000 access points at various times during demolition. I also value my health and well-being pretty well, so I never tried to access during its demolition, but it sure was sweet to watch come down.

The Milwaukee technical High School (Milwaukee Boys Tech) at 3rd & Virginia is being demolished as we speak - there's various access points throughout the ground level - the power was JUST shut off this past weekend to the building. One side of the building was built in the 1900s, the other was split between the 50's and '60s. The 1900s side is coming down quickly now, and they're taking the '50s/'60s side down from the inside out. I poke around there pretty regularly, as it's rather close to my place of residence.

I wasn't aware the Spring Mall Theater was on its way down (down already? I went to Southridge last night to eat some Taco Johns and strained to look for it in its dilapidated form, as my pension for U.E. has returned after a slight break for a few years here, and figured it might be a good line...), but I knew it was well worn and broken up - I'll have to dredge up my photos of it from six or so months back...

Wow. Kind of awkward for a first-post. Maybe I should go to 'introduce yourself,' or lurk for a little while... I'm a bit booked up this weekend to make whatever might be happening, however I'll be poking around for some action in August if anybody's up to it. The whole Walker's Point area is under revitalization, and a ton of warehouses and other such are being abandoned, torn down, and turned to condos to please the rich masses that want to live near the ghetto.

I went to that foundry about two weeks ago and it wasn't in shambles or anything. One building was completely torn down save a basement floor and the other was almost completely intact. Theres two entrances to the place that lead two different ways through the building. So if you go make sure you check out both. The whole place is surrounded by fencing that has wood all around it so once you get in you shouldn't have to worry about much. I would recommend going there sometime around 12AM -2AM. There is a bar right next to the place which makes a lot of noise so you should be good to go until closing time.

Yeah the Spring Mall Theatre is halfway torn down now. I made a stop over there last night and two of the theatres are completely demolished. The lobby is trashed and filled with junk, but you can still go upstairs, half of it still exists haha. I went up on the roof to for a while, but I really wouldnt recommend going up there I felt a few soft spots and not to mention all of 76th street can see you.

I would be down for making a run through the Tech School before it gets demolished.

I just did this awesome post, clicked some external link in another window, and it totally negated what I had written. I'll try to recap:

* Boys Tech is pretty well demolished. Here's a pic of it today:

Seems that the "old" part is being demolished at the rate of a floor every-other-day. There's probably something to see on the '60s side of things, but I fear that they're really doing a number on this thing from the inside out, so I wonder about what's really left to see in there... You can obviously see straight through the building in some areas on 4th.

* The Spring Mall theatre is as you said it was - completely demolished save for the lobby and some random otherage... People were pilfering bricks ("My husband and I met here, married here, had photos taken here, I worked here... blah blah blah!") and Johnny Law (Greenfield) was keeping people out of the rubble pretty well. I wasn't thrilled at the prospect of going in the building (what's left of it) personally, but hey - there might still be that bug in me.

Sorry I missed whatever went on Saturday. I was busy entertaining the Poison after-crowd in Ackerville in my band. Just ridiculous. Nobody there until like 12:30, when we were only to play until 1:30. Unruly bunch of old rockers, too. I digress.

I'll keep my eyes peeled around here for additional meetups, and I'll try to add some stuff to the location database I've been visiting lately. Perhaps I can prove myself to be a useful member yet!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the meet-up this past Saturday. It was a pleasure to meet you all. And for the boys that took me to P&V for the first time, thank you for being so gentlemanly and helping over broken glass and I-beams

Oh, and everyone who took photos that night, make sure to share and share alike. I'll do the same, but being that I was using my camera for the first time EVER that night, my pics are nothing short of crap.

And to all who didn't come, hang your heads in shaaaaaaame. Then, keep in touch with the forum so we can meet up some other time.

You're reckless!

P.S. So sad about Boys' Tech Saw someone else's photos from it once, and looked like loads o' fun.

Thanks to Macky for organizing it.

This was my first time being out in Milwaukee. I grew up in the burbs with little or no UE sites. P and V WAS fun! Thanks to carbonatedwater and Humili8ions for the tour.

We elected Macky President and went exploring.

I know I'm only 16, but I am very disappointed about the Boys Tech. Carbon and I had scouted it out once or twice before and I was really looking forward to a look-see through it. My Grandfather attended that school back in the day and I was hoping to get glimpse of what it was like for him back then. Also, never Spring mall was even open to seeing. Guess its just a nothing precious moment lost. Thanks again for the reckless time saturday nite, it was a nite to renumber.

Holy shit, everybody...

Almost got into a car accident on my way home from work today, as I happened to notice that someone had busted the lock off of the main A.F. Gallun building on Water St. and the doors were cocked open. not to mention that there are mad holes in the fence. It's just begging to be UE'd.

Just thought y'all should know.

Cheers-
MwackySwift

P.S. Gonna upload my shitty P&V pics tonight. Everyone should get on that, too - pretty please.

jesus h tap dancing christ on a bike

this situation needs to be tended to in the next 24-48 hours before:

a) taggers/hell-raisers
b) contractors
c) property owners

...ruin it. seriously.

I have shitty night pictures of A.F. Gallun's main building, but won't post them due to their shittiness. I had no idea such traffic existed on Water Street at 11:30pm.

And also: P&V - I had always thought that place was pretty well out-of-bounds, due to the re-development of that area... evidently not! wow!
