Supposedly it's got a 24hr security patrol. It's definitely worth a peek though. I was just in Buffalo this week and I was dumbfounded as to how beautiful the Kirk there is. The towers are REALLY big.

If they even see you looking at the building, security will be watching you. It's a gorgeous building, but definitely a tough one.

How about The "Aud"? Any idea if anyone has been in and what remains? I know the plan is to put a Bass Pro shop in there

I have tried a number of times to find an easy entrance to the AUD. I even called the number on the one side of the building that said, "Call for access" but no luck.

About a year or two ago, during the whole "Where should the local tribe build their casino" debacle (they ended up building on the old HO Oats site.. bastards) - the Aud was opened up, and a reporter tagged along.

Come to find out - after the last sporting event there, many years ago, they didn't even bother cleaning up! There were still old cups and garbage between the rows of seats, etc. As far as I know, it still exists that way. I don't think Bass has started building yet, have they?

Shaun oboyle is a half rate photographer that NEVER "gets" inside. All of his stuff is done with permission. Not that that's a bad thing but the guy then takes the time to denegrate the rest of the crowd that has to use a little ingenuity.

Again, "permissioned" trips doesn't make one a "pussy". But when you get permission and then berate the explorer, then you crossed the line.

When I first recognized one his locations "MINE" as the NL industries Titanium mine at Tahawus (now being demo'd despite it's middle of nowhere location) I emailed the guy; his first reaction was surprise that I knew it. After several emails passed by, I finally got the "I should go back up to Tahawus before the Urban Explorers go up there" out of him. Fucker acted like only he had seen the place.

I was in the malting company over on Niagara the other day and wanted to give a heads up to major loss of stability. Since mid-winter a lot of the metal staircases and walkways, have gone down hill something fierce. There are still good stairs there in smaller areas, but the bigger metal ones are best avoided. We lost a few hand rails and stairs during the night, a few real close slips. If you've been there before, take the place a bit more cautious.

Can't wait for saturday. I'll try and get some addresses and google earth surveillance .

Love.

It's not Buffalo per se... but Lockport Electric is pretty cool. I have some photos of it on my flickr site.. the first couple in this set:

It's not that hard to find...

Also, St Lawrence Cement has a nice collection of survival crackers. Plenty enough for everyone

I'd rather make sure I'm not duplicating what's in the DB. But not being a full member, I don't know if the locations are.

Lockport Electric is on Mill St, near the intersection w/ Clinton St (78). There's a very easy way in and a slightly less easy way. In Lockport, of course.
