And me thinking this was only in anime hentai... I've got to get to Japan...

Nope, it's not fiction.

We were in a 50yen store, and my wife picked up a pair of mini binoculars. She looked through randomly, and what did she see? Panties of a girl coming down some stairs nearby. She wouldn't let me borrow them. Just one example, but they were everywhere. It's nice visiting a country not controlled by the dynamic duo of Jesus and Confucius, two bastards who better hope I don't end up in the same afterlife with them.

also, kuroneko, gotta love the japanese, assuming that's where that is.

Hai. This is what they normally look like though, going over the details of a foreigner exploring places that Japanese would not normally go (in this case Hotel Boyo in Chiba).

I am often amused by the stories posted here about The Filth you guys encounter. In ten years in Japan, I've never come across a policeman who wanted to do anything more than help and make sure the law wasn't broken.

I am sure there are some here who are out for revenge, head-smashing, graft and women, but not the ones I've encountered. Do something really wrong though, and you're slammed - 98% 'conviction' rate. So, try and keep on the right side and you'll be OK.

I would hate to have been stopped for doing what I've been doing in Korea, China, the US, or Oztraya...

Ha! That reminds me of watching these trainees try and get into their ride wearing their new play gear. It was like a 1910 Keystone Cop movie - they had obviously never practiced previously, and were hitting their heads together, bumping into each other, and one guy almost ran over his colleague when he tried to reverse wearing the full kit.

Most intimidating police vehicle I have even seen. Mass even gave out cruiser number 666 to a new charger, I saw it working detail one day and almost shit myself.

I'm a little surprised. The cops in Ithaca fought over who got to take the Chargers over the Impalas and the couple of Vics they had still. To each his own, I suppose.

the Charger looks more imposing and has the 'cool' factor when you're striving to be a bad ass with a badge. Everyone has the Vickies and the Impalas are FWD... how can you be cool with FWD?

But when push comes to shove, the only car that I would be a little nervous to have chasing me in my SS would be the Impala. You know that some of the cop package Impalas have the 5.3L V8, right?

Until you drive away over a speed bump equipped road - and they can't follow.

Korea? Are you kidding? The cops here are real pussycats. They generally err on the side of "This is probably a misunderstanding; you guys wanna go get kimpop?" even if they've just certainly witnessed a real crime. I think they were vicious in the '80s and are overcompensating for that now.

I have a friend living in Tokyo for about the same time as you. Last time I came to visit him, he got in the wrong taxi home and spent a week in jail without being able to contact any of us, even his pregnant at the time wife. The taxi tried to rip him off, and he refused to pay. When the cops arrived, he stepped out of the taxi to talk to them, and they arrested him for leaving the taxi without paying. Talk about following the law to the T. So yeah, they were making sure the law wasn't broken, in the douchiest way possible. That 98% conviction rate scares me. In Korea it's probably the exact opposite, 2% conviction rate.

There are three things I fear in Japan: earthquakes, volcanoes, and cops.

Just...pray you don't ever need protection from the law due to being victim of a crime.
