I'm not sure what the point of the barbed wire is. The big gap in the gate isn't keeping people out.

I didn't get a picture of the exact day, but whoever had patrolled the mall before we came that day forgot to lock the door to the escalators. It had a padlock, with it only wrapped around one handle on the door.

We just walked in.

Interesting, I went to a US abandoned military base yesterday too, and the fencing was equally useless at some spot. Except there was security patrolling inside though.

However that is still a lot more reasonable in terms of keeping people out than most of the other stuff here.

After years of an abandoned 1870's home sitting with relative easy access, they finally decided to increase security & built a barbed wire fence surrounding the home.

1.

I have been to this property a number of times so I wasn't overly concerned that they added this deterrent. I walked around the fence checking out the house's condition & noticed this brand new fence was missing something.

Put giant boulder in front of door, can't secure against easy first floor window access. Thanks Chicago.

Put squad in front of building, wait for snow, squad buried and untouched by anybody= scarecrow. I gave them points for trying though.

Funny that....

There's a little town north of the Grand Canyon that parks a cop car on the main street (one stoplight town) and has a mannequin in the front seat dressed up like a cop complete with mirror sunglasses. Always get a chuckle when I head up that way.
