Work on a gas pipe underway on a local bridge. went up a scaffold not far behind this truck. spent some time inside the two pylons and on the iron. came down this scaffold staircase. pushed thru the plywood to get out. just to realize that a security guard was sitting in his truck... sleeping.

What the hell are you shooting with that you have "lousy ISO"? I have a D90, my ISO only goes to 200. It is sufficient. I also lack a remote, so I only have the options of a 30 second exposure most of the time.

I also have a D90, here are the ISO specs.

Lowest Expanded ISO Sensitivity

Lo-1 (ISO 100 equivalent)

Highest Expanded ISO Sensitivity

Hi-1 (ISO 6400 equivalent)

Expanded ISO Sensitivity Options

Lo-1 (ISO 100 equivalent) Hi-1 (ISO 6400 equivalent)

The remote is only $15-$20 as well. I use the ultra low ISO in the bulb setting so I can let the scene light itself (1-5 min exposures). I've found using natural/very low light/light painting to be a photographic challenge all its own and I couldn't imagine not wanting to shoot it. Its very addicting and adds a huge facet to photography. Boarded windows or a pitch black drain, I consider that a personal invitation.

To be fair, I have a remote. I just simply lose it all the time, so its one of those "just as good as not owning one" thing.

And even when I have it on Lo-1, it is still technically at ISO 200.

I too am fucking addicted to light painting. Photography in a drain is a challenge, and a rewarding one for the effort I put into it.

You, apparently. Pathetic, yes. But a bit clever. Nobody wants to put a shoulder into that door.

I can guarantee it wasn't because you put your shoulder into that door. So what was inside the secret government barn of doom?

I don't think it's even rope, it looks like it's just a lazily draped garden hose.

... and it is excellent.
