Posted by sleeperspirit My last daytona was an 89 shelby with a turbo 2 and a dodge ram cummins front mount intercooler. It was so large it filled the whole front end and the flip up headlights had to be fixed in the up position because the motors had to be removed to fit the intercooler.

back in 87 or so, my uncle actually WON a brand new BLACK Daytona Shelby Z. It was a gorgeous car. I have photos in my photo album, but never scanned them.

Black with gold trim and tan interior is the second best color combo for them, first would be red with black interior. IMO

this was BLACK with red trim, black leather interior. It was like a fucking stealth fighter and I remember it was retardedly fast at the time. My dad was rather perturbed that it gave his 84 Mustang GT a run for its money!

a friend of mine from Pennsylvania sent me this... I am talking to the guy about buying it, but he's kind of beefing that I can't get down there until this coming Wednesday. What can one do? I work and it's a 4+ hour drive. http://reading.cra...to/4793083533.html

Aren't those the same rims as on the later Citation X11s?
Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing. |

You've actually got it backwards, those rims started with the 1981 Citation X11 and were later added to the Celebrity Eurosport. For their time, they were very lightweight, rivaled only by the late 1986-1987 Cavalier Z24 wheel. As for the rarity of the car, from what I could find, there were only 33 Celebrity convertibles built. I know, it's boxy and old, but it's different and I likey. I am heading down to Lancaster on Wednesday morning to look at it. Trying to find a driver to get it home. My only concern is that the car was wrecked 18 years ago and rebuilt. The guy says that it has passed PA inspection every year without fail... Wondering how that is going to translate into NY. New York is kind of Nazi on rebuilt titles.

Get someone to title it in GA and re title it in TN. Clean title. Don't ask.

that celebrity sold yesterday. Probably for the better... it had a rebuilt title even though the guy had been driving it for 18 years.

I consider it a warning sign when a car seller doesn't spell the name of the car right.

That's actually when you can snatch up an outstanding deal.

Yup. I've went to look at the ad that just said " Old Chevy. Runs. Needs work. Was driven daily till owner passed. $1,200 OBO. And left with a running and driving yet slightly worn 1970 Monte Carlo WITH a factory big block 454 for $800. Literally flipped it within the day for three grand. This was a ad in the paper. It was listed by the grand son who inherited it and wanted enough cash to put down on a civic from a buy here pay here. He was estatic I was willing to give him $800. He really thought he would only get closer to $500 for a old pea green Chevy that sucked on gas. Sigh. This was in 1998. He was about the same age as me. He had no idea.

I bought a dodge Daytona turbo z like that on ebay back in eh 07 for $127 cause he spelled it wrong in the listing.

I'm not sure which is worse, the gas mileage or the handling (if you can call it that).
