Hey MB,
We really need to go here
32°46'18.46"N
96°51'37.92"W

They've fenced off the transmission shop on the North side where I got in last time but there's still ways to get to it and I bet the skyline view is awesome.

I'm a blatant waste of time and resources.

The Hotel in question is the old Baker Hotel, back in the day it was a major resort for the very wealthy. When Fort Walther was still open in the 60's the beacon in the tower was used as a marker for returning helicopters on training exercises.

I feel like I'm going to get a disease just looking at the big pile o' needles.

And this isn't really exploration related, but this is what I did this weekend!

I hate flash so much. If you're gonna get a tattoo, something original like this is the only way to go.

Thanks! I feel the same way, I always have something in mind and then have the artist draw it up, much better results that way.

Hey, it's wearing a purple snuggie!

That made me cry a little inside.

I'd say you've coma a looong way from the days of your little Canon XT with the homemade, pill-bottle remote shutter release!

Hey now, thats what I still use. Except my homemade shutter release is built in a Radio Shack project case, but the idea came from MB. Pill bottle shutter release was quiet inventive.

Inventive, yes...reliable, no. One night when MB and I shot the old DLP (RIP) together, he couldn't get his to work at all. He had to sit there and hold his shutter open by hand while I did all the light-painting!

The irony of course is that for less than $8, you can get a nice wireless trigger for that camera, ( I mention this, just in case anyone has one ) or for $6, you can get a wired one:

I've been using one of those for a couple years. Set camera to "bulb". First click opens, second click closes. I love mine!
